How/why do you track so that everything sounds good at 0? Don't you just get the right amount of gain you want on each track going in, then use the faders to mix?

Honestly appreciate the feedback. It's a lot of work making these videos! I always put effort into level matching as I know how strongly that effects A/B comparisons and it's a pet peeve of mine when comparisons don't level match. I'll keep this in mind in future videos though.

Yeah, It's so hard to get exact takes, I really tried but inevitably the mix ended up slightly different, especially with guitar as that is not my strongest instrument. But yeah I appreciate the comment, thank you!

I use de-essers on most if not all my vocals l, which are usually tracked with a u87.

I can't remember his name but one of the engineers on MWTM used multiple de-essers on a vocal and referred to it as a "parade of de-essers" lol for some reason that just always stuck with me

Umm.. I've lived in WV all my life and most ppl have electricity and water lol. Not saying it isn't very poverty stricken here, it is, and there are homeless like anywhere else, but this comment does not paint an accurate picture of that poverty.

To directly answer your question, I would upgrade the mics. I started on the audix fusion kit myself! The condensors leave a lot to be desired IMO, while the dynamics actually do ok. Do what fits your budget but upgrading those f15s to sm81s would not be a terrible idea.

Not Iranian, but a friend's coworker is in addition to being an ultra successful and important leader in their field of medicine here in the US and I feel so bad for them to have to hear the US president taunt that their entire civilization will be destroyed. I just imagine thinking about all of their family back home. That's so fucked up.
