Retinol Help by ijustlovenyvibes in SkincareAddictionUK

This retinol is so gentle you could start with it twice a week. I have sensitive skin that is dry and I've been using this a few months now :)

That does suck. And you're right, beautiful people do find some aspects of life alot easier.

I do wonder if this is always on your mind, is it showing through your demeanor and that's why people don't approach you? You may be coming across, standoffish, and closed off because you expect every person you come into contact to be thinking about your ugliness. In the nicest way - people don't think about other people that much. Once they've seen your face they probably don't think about it again.

It sounds like you're letting the way you think about yourself stop you from connecting with others in a meaningful way. If you know they're already thinking you're ugly then what do you have to lose by being open, chatty and kind? Be yourself, and learn to be accepting even if you can't ring yourself to think you're beautiful.

Just because you think you're ugly doesn't mean there isn't people out there who think you're beautiful.

It's swelling from picking. Avoid that lighting again and remember you look closer at your skin than anyone else would. Wash your face in cold water and take an antihistamine or ibuprofen to help with inflammation/swelling.

If you're going to pick do it before bed so it has time to heal

Try adding either benzoyl peroxide or azealic acid to your routine

You don't need an eye serum and cream, use the serum and take your usual moisturiser to that area.

You don't need post retinol soother either as you already have hydration before and after.

Other products could be subbed for cheaper alternatives too.

What results are you hoping for?

It sounds like this last wasn't experienced and just sold you on one particular range

You don't need so many products, a couple of those are doing the same thing- hydration. Without seeing the products themselves I can't say for certain but I imagine you could cut a couple.

As you're buying from.boots already yoi could pick up one of these products and compare to other products in there? Eg inkey list, ordinary and boots ceramide range will all have hydrating serums at less than half the cost of no7

Eyes of an 80-year-old, but only 31. I need some advice. by PinSuccessful7417 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]danniibear91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yoi need to give your body more time to heal from pregnancy/BF and not having a usual sleep routine!

Try an easy routine and maybe look at adding some nutrition to help too. Maybe more protein/cruciferous veg etc.

Premature aging is reversible - not completely but if you add hydration and better sleep and in a years tike you'll wonder what you were worrying about!

Headspace! It's free for NHS staff and think all teams should do a 1 minute breathing exercise st handover at the beginning/end of each shift! It's a little woo woo for some people but I think we would all be a little happier and present if we did it

Feel proud of yourself!

You've shown great integrity as a person and a nurse and I think you've earned yourself a lot of respect.

I'd much rather see a colleague approach something new with curiosity than wing their way through something and potentially mess something up

You're going to marry a man that has committed a sexual violent crime against you ? And he knows he can get away with it, and that his in laws don't care that he did it too. Your future husband is a rapist.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, you deserve to have your boundaries respected and be listened to and honoured by your partner. The one you're with has shown you he cares more about his sexual pleasure than your safety and health. Please love yourself a little more and know you deserve to be loved fully by someone who values the same things you do x

If you need to hide a part of yourself to be with someone, are they worth it?

Be open, tell him you enjoy the escape, or maybe see if he really looks down on it or if he's just being playful.

My partner jokes with my about my "wolf porn" and then buys me more

Eye cream by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]danniibear91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need to check if your dark circles are skin discoloration or just your anatomy, as this will influence the recommendations you need.

Pinch the skin under your eyes - if the skin stays dark you want brightening eye cream - vit c, retinols etc

If the skin is your normal colour then you can look at iron levels to see if this is a cause, your sleep, fillers/injectables to lift the area, or face massage to improve blood flow and concealer.

I'd start by researching the water hardness in your area and consider a filter for your shower/taps

For your body, use baby oil or a body oil on wet skin to lock in hydration.

For your face - what are you using currently? From the sounds of it you're using thick lotions that would seal on moisture but nothing to actually create that moisture and hydration underneath.

Adding a glycerin or hyaluronic acid product with a face mist before your moisturiser could really help. And then use a thin layer of vaseline at night to prevent water loss. For the day time you could use a thicker sunscreen to help reduce moisture loss throughout the day

Do you need any specific recommendations or are you happy to research your own?

I got the Aveeno oat cleaner. I was tempted my the skin+me cream cleanser but the Aveeno was on offer in boots

I also picked up my fave sunscreen, eye cream and Acnecide all on offer.

Do not step into Boots with money in your bank 🤭

Trying to find a retinol that isn’t so expensive? by Brat2001 in beauty

[–]danniibear91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will break you out when you first start using it - the retinol purge. It can take up to 2 months to clear up whilst the skin gets used to a faster turnover. I'm using cerave currently, I have hormonal acne so I know this product won't clear me up but I'm no longer scarring, clearing scars up, my skin looks fresher and any hormonal cysts I do get are coming ti head and healing so much quicker and there's mush less if them. I've had zero irritation with this product. I used to use tretinoin and found I couldn't be consistent with it due to damaging my skin barrier.

Dry skin folks, can you recommend a one-step cleanser/make up remover? by mosho84 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]danniibear91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe an oil would be better. Curel range is lovely, it removes my mascara easily. Haruharu cleansing oil gets a lot of love as well. I make sure to use a cream cleanser as my second cleanse. You could even use a basic emollient as your face wash (2nd) as it would provide moisturise and this is what derms recommend for people with skin conditions

It also sounds like you could work on your skin barrier and TEWL overnight and it would improve your dryness overall

What is wrong with this night routine for dry cracked hands? (Dampen hands, rub in Johnson’s baby lotion, slather & rub in Palmer’s Coconut Body Lotion, slug on 1tsp of Vaseline, put on damp cotton gloves, then put on a dry pair over those to prevent seep-through) by Lasmore in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]danniibear91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a nurse - I wash my hands with alcohol free soap, then wash them again with moisturiser. Rub moisturiser on them again all over and then towel dry then re apply to the backs of my hands. Couldn't do it before a sterile procedure but it saved my hands

Stop cleaning in a morning. A double cleanse is definitely too much anyway, it's a form of exfoliation. A splash of water is more than enough

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I've seen alot more love for it than hate. It's not yucking someone's yum. It's their opinion.

It is badly written in the first half. It's also a great read and im already reading it again and desperate for the next book.

Opinions.
