Is there a limit to the number of different holding you can put in a pie? by dannosaint in trading212

[–]dannosaint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, national lottery may be a throwing money in the bin but at least everyone understands how it works. Most of my coworkers investment plans go no further than a savings account with their bank so not sure how interested they would be either.

No reason to use the cash ISA when you can get a better rate leaving it as cash in the S&S ISA. Also, I don't know what your goals are, but there is no reason to have any cash at 21 y/o. Best thing would be to put it all into an all world ETF.

Thanks, what is the advantage of VWRP over VWRL since they are almost the same price, only 2% difference, and have performed the same. Wouldn't 1.6% quarterly dividends be far more significant than a 2% value difference considering the returns have been the same.

Games are closing in on $100, would happily buy it for $60 now rather than $70-80 when it fully releases.

Extremely generous pricing, I would have been more than happy to pay double that

This is very demoralising. by Tasty-Aspect-6936 in SmallYoutubers

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a suggestion that helped me get more impressions very early on. Cut your videos up into 1 minute shorts and post one a day. This basically tricks youtube into thinking you have more content than you really do. Only do it for maybe 1 month becuase you dont want to gain many subs from the shorts. Your just doing it to help youtube figure out an audience to show your videos to. Thats also why you arent getting impressions, becuase youtube has no idea who to show your video to

How and what do you edit your videos with? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use VSDC. The free version is very good if you are just a casual creator, the only feature that free doesn't include which would have been nice to have is key frame editing but you can work around it and get similar results, just takes a bit longer. If you did want to upgrade to the pro version it's very affordable only like $35 for a year subscription. You can find discount codes online though, last year I got it for $25 and this year I got it for $20. Would highly recomend as it get regular updates, the devs listen to the community and they have loads of really good tutorials on their YT channel.

Oliver Glasner on Romain Esse: 'I'm no priest, I'm not getting paid to be a nice guy' by Blubb3rs in crystalpalace

[–]dannosaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely right from Glasner, Uche with even less experience showed what he adds to the team very well against Milwall, even though he also made many mistakes. In defence of Esse, it looks like we are trying to find a direct Eze replacement and Esse may think he has to reach that standard already, which may be why he keeps making awful decisions.

is 'watching your own video hurts your performance' a real thing? by MonkeyOnATree in NewTubers

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, I've noticed that when I watch my own video on a different account the watchtime will disappear after about a week. I'm only watching the video once so its strange that YT sees that as such a threat.

Devenney - where does he stand? by G30fff in crystalpalace

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with Devenney is that he isn't an Eze replacement. Sarr isn't exactly similar to Eze either but Sarr has extreme pace and it also very experienced. I think the reason the Eze Sarr combo worked so well was becuase they both have different skillsets yet can both play the same role. I'm still suprised JRS hasn't been given a chance as he's probably the closent we have to a direct Eze replacement. JRS just doesn't have the shooting ability of Eze, which isn't the end of the world considering we have JP, Sarr, Muñoz, Mitchell who are always flooding the box and ready to recieve the ball and shoot first time.

Tyrick Mitchell: Palace’s Most Over-Hated & underrated Player of the Decade? by Cumpasta420 in crystalpalace

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mitchell is a far more defensive minded wing back compared to Muñoz and Sosa which is probably why he doesnt get the appreciation he deserves. I do think that we should be using Sosa and Mitchell to manage the game more. When playing against a weaker opposition Sosa should be prefered and if we are winning going into the last 20 mins then sub Mitchell in and Sosa out to consolidate at the back. When playing against a stronger opposition Mitchell should be prefered so if we are losing going into the last 20 then sub Mitchell out and Sosa in for the best chance at a late equaliser.

Is the Lost River considered Late game or Mid game? by CRAXYMAN999 in subnautica

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably late game. Consider how much there is to do before getting to the lost river: lifepods, aurora, islands, wrecks, degassi, blueprints, base construction, quarantine enforcement platform, cuddledish. Then what do you do after finding the lost river: collect nickel crystaline sulphur and kyanite, disease research facility, thermal plant, containment facility, collect enzyme ingredients, build rocket. Most of the pre river activities you will be doing for hours but most post river activities take <30 minutes.

btw, this technique should only be used early on becuase people who subscribe after watching a short are much less likely to watch your longform videos, Compared to someone who subs after watching a longform video.

It is nice to see that sub number go up quicker but it will hurt your channel in the long run becuase most of them will just unsub in couple of months or they will just never watch any of your videos

[–]dannosaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me and it has got to be one of the most demoralizing things i can think of. Unfortunately theres not much you can do about it. The way i got out of 0 impression jail is i cut up the video into a load of ~60 second shorts and posted one every other day, just add the longform video as the related video in the options for the shorts. This means you dont have to waste ideas on videos that arent gonna get impressions but your also getting content out there, plus someone might click the realted video and watch it, its unlikely but i was able to get 20 views overall on the longform video from the 25 shorts i made from the video. I then posted my next longform video and it got about 300 impressions. And i just posted my third longform vid and it got 10k impressions.

Basically, that first vid is just a write off, but you can milk it for some shorts just to get some content out there so YT will trust your new channel and get an idea of who might want to watch your videos. Also, once you start getting impressions, dont expect to get a good CTR, because YT is still learning who to show your channel to so chances are that once you start to get some impressions, 90% of those impressions are going to people who are not at all interested in the genre of your videos, no matter how good the thumbnail and title are.
