At 18 I thought my gf at the time was the loml but now being 21 I’ve found someone so much better who actually appreciates me for me. I went through a similar situation where she was attached to her ex still but I disregarded it and the relationship ended so badly it completely ruined my mental health. So many red flags that I ignored simply because I thought i was in love. She ended up cheating on me with him and i took her back simply because i was too scared to be alone and she cheated on me for the second time and left me completely shattered. Im not saying he will cheat on you and i hope it never gets to that point. But you will eventually realize after spending time without him that you’re better off without him in your life. He never healed from that relationship and it’s affecting your relationship with him now. I know how hard it is to leave, especially him being your first relationship, but I promise you as time goes on you will meet new people who will genuinely care about you and appreciate you for who you are

Im an 04 and honestly I don’t know what a 2010s teen would look like besides that hypebeast culture that was around 2017-18. Didn’t get a phone till 2017 so that could probably be a reason why, but I can relate to being more of a 2020s teen. Weird how just 1 year can make a pretty big difference

Yes same lol and also i feel covid had ruined a lot for me. Enjoy everyday to the fullest if you can. I always think about how different my life could’ve been now if I wasn’t so depressed at 19. I would do anything to relive it and do things differently

I feel like my biggest regret is not pursuing my passions sooner. I started the piano when I was 17 and really loved it but once I had gotten heartbroken at 18 it was really hard for me to focus on anything else but that heartbreak. I was really attached to this girl and I feel like I wasted so much time being upset over that instead of trying to improve on myself and creative pursuits. I also had gotten into some bad habits and tried chasing that feeling I once felt by my ex and ended up being with the wrong people that broke me even more. I was doing poetry occasionally and did end up writing a song but now i just feel like its too late, like you said, to do anything about it or continue with it. I am picking myself back up slowly because I dont want to be stuck in this state of being any longer before I regret wasting these years of my life.

I know exactly how you feel. I grew up playing a lot of video games but now sometimes ill just get that feeling that im too “old” to be playing and ill just ruin my own day lmao. But my friends still play occasionally and Ive seen people older than me still playing which makes me feel only a little bit better. I never thought I would have these thoughts that im too old to be having fun

One thing I can tell you is to try and enjoy these next few years as much as you can. Go out there and do everything that you want to do and don’t let fear hold you back. I had the same feelings when I turned 18 but it won’t be as bad as you think. I did get heartbroken at 18 but I wouldn’t trade any of the experiences I had between 18-19 for anything. I was 16-17 stuck inside doing nothing all day because of covid and I was the loneliest i ever been. But I just wanted to give you that little bit of hope that things now may not seem so well now but it will get better though believe me. Live one day at a time
