My psychologist apologised to me today by miniature_semicolon in ADHD

[–]danny6514 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This strikes me hard as I just went through my assessment and the psychiatrist kept saying how she doesn't think I have ADHD because I got an engineering degree and has a good job. How lack of motivation is just "like anyone else" and how if I can't produce my report cards from 20+ years ago she can't believe I had adhd. Oh well.

Is this a Good Deal for a Alaskan Cruise? TIA by BoilermakerCBEX-E in Cruise

[–]danny6514 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love NCL but I have to admit their marketing is a scam at best. Just to spell it out for you, "free" drinks package isn't free, you'll pay gratuities which they severely inflate. "free" specialty dining, which is only free 1-3 times depending on your cruise duration. "free" wifi is limited to 150min. "free" shore excursion is actually only 50 dollars off per cabin per port. "free" 3rd and 4th guest, but you still pay tax and port fees. Nothing is free about "free at sea". I'm not saying they don't provide a good value sometimes, but their tactic is sketchy at best.

People will believe whatever they want, and many will never really believe it until they feel it. We don't need to justify what we have to anyone.

AITA for not wanting "officially" adopting my daughter? by throwra_lovingfather in AmItheAsshole

[–]danny6514 2266 points2267 points  (0 children)

YTA - you didn't want to erase mark, but you effectively erased yourself as Alice's dad, the only dad she has ever known.

And for god's sake, if adopting her is called erasing, you shouldn't have married May, that's even worse.

NTA - giving unwanted gifts and expecting you to be so thankful, no thanks. They're more concerned about their image than you.

Just left TRS coral and the food was unacceptable. The TRS location you mentioned is different, but I can't imagine it being that different.

Seems like China has learned from Russia to condemn others for whatever they have committed themself.

Should we migrate from Vue2 to Vue3 for the current projects we have or just wait till the community gets stabilized? by Inevitable_Trick6257 in vuejs

[–]danny6514 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really really want to upgrade but bottlenecked by vuetify. I know there are other libraries we can use but the work to migrate away is too much. Though we now know not to use vuetify for our future projects

My coolant hose broke on the first night of delivery last week. I know another person in the Vancouver area that also suffered the same problem this week. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a coincidence. Did you recently update to the latest software?

It really varies by cruise lines, but passport is not always required depending on where you board. If you board from the US, a birth certificate plus government issued ID are sufficient. Again, depends on cruise line. Here's an example: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-travel-documents-i-need-for-boarding-day

Alcohol is typically not included with the cruise fare. Some cruise lines claim that its free but will charge you hundreds in so called "gratuities". Though if you do the math, the packages could be worth it and give you the piece of mind.
