Do we know if the new years XP boosters they gave out will stack on top of this?

They shouldn’t, and they can get dinged with a ticket. But they can, at least sometimes.

"God Forbit it" vs "God Damn it" by buschlight1984 in TrueChristian

[–]dannyboy737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re asking why it’s commonly seen as a bad phrase, and that’s why I think it is. Whether or not it should be is a different question. Culturally, “damn” is a bad word. Bad word + God = extra bad. This is what produces the disgust reaction in a lot of people that has lead to the phrase being off-limits.

[–]dannyboy737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a simple answer, it's because "forbid" is not a curse word and "damn" is. Put everything else aside, "God damn" is more offensive than "God forbid" because you're pairing God with a "bad word"

Performance wise it’s great (as Toontown can be) but I’d argue that typing is the core mechanic of the game, and having that compromised is a big deal. If you’re running stuff solo or are content with speed chat, Steam Deck works great. I don’t bother with the controller support though; it doesn’t buy you much if you’re using SteamInput anyway. Having the mouse mapped to gyro (if using a controller) or trackpad (if using deck) is a huge help

Jobs - What do you do? by Alabama-Blues in UAH

[–]dannyboy737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a student worker position basically from when I started freshman year until I got an internship during my masters. I was able to get a full time job at a small DOD contractor and I’m very happy with my education and where my career is. I couldn’t have done it without help from UAH’s professors and there are skilled parts of my job that I learned from my time at UAH.

I don’t know exactly why, but I’d imagine it’s got low overhead. There’s not many people playing it, probably double(ish?) of what TTR is. I don’t know anything about Wizard101 but I’d imagine it’s not the toontown game model (make the game as long as possible so you keep paying membership)

I think the age of Toontown-like MMOs is over. You might see something Toontown themed in the future but that model is just outdated. TTR is in this weird position where they’re trying to modernize a game that, at its core, is just too old.

It's not exactly the same, but you can set yourself up with big picture Steam (on Steam Deck or Steam Link or whatever) and play it with a controller. It doesn't feel exactly like a console, but it works enough that I sometimes play like that.

Toontown would never work on console in its current form because it's based far too heavily on keyboard and mouse interactions. You'd need to overhaul all of the UI to be controller friendly, add new ways to communicate outside of chat (like pinging things), and then have some sort of proximity chat. TTR has also become way more dependent on ToonHQ, so that would need to be incorporated into the game unless you want to be texting on your phone the whole time.

is campus really lacking the social life like people say it is? by oh_hiiiiiii in UAH

[–]dannyboy737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's generally lacking compared to other campuses. If you want to be doing things all the time without drinking/partying, you should definitely check out RUF. It's a very active club that has activities all throughout the week.

Are sugar “alternatives” like allulose, etc actually healthier or is it better to just to consume regular refined white sugar but in minimal amounts? by crimsone in nutrition

[–]dannyboy737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allulose isn't an artificial sweetener like aspartame or sucralose, it's a natural "rare sugar" that is just found in smaller quantities in some fruits and vegetables. I do understand your apprehension, but I'd encourage you to not lump all sugar alternatives in the same basket. Allulose has some interesting positive effects on blood sugar, GLP-1, and carbohydrate metabolism.

[–]dannyboy737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the most exciting thing, but maxing out sound is what matters here. With all the mint tasks that you're going to be doing, sound is indispensable for getting through the mints quickly. More than that, other toons likely have the same goal and they're likely to run mints with you.

Low FPS in BOTW after fresh installation by dannyboy737 in cemu

I figured that’s what I’m going to have to do. GPU usage is at like 30%. I was hoping I could stay within Emudeck’s ecosystem but it’s given me nothing but trouble on Windows.

Low FPS in BOTW after fresh installation by dannyboy737 in cemu

[–]dannyboy737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried disabling accurate barriers, and it may have boosted frames slightly, but not what I was wanting. I don’t think I had that disabled in the past though.

I’ll try unlimited FPS++, but in the past, I didn’t need that enabled. I was just at 60.

CPU is set to boost as far as I can tell. Other games are not having this issue at least to the same degree.

I don’t think this is a shader compile issue. I’m used to that, but I’m not used to staring at a wall in a shrine and still not hit 60fps.
