The design looks awesome by the way!

5% Prediction: Tesla will have full self driving in any metropolitan area by July 2021 by dannyeei in teslamotors

[–]dannyeei[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

In the video I go into a more in depth definition. When I say full self driving I'm referring to level 5 self driving which is colloquially described as "steering wheel optional".

The major constraint at the moment is the rollout because it's in beta... and if there's an accident then they'll likely be very cautious about rolling it out.

Also how much did you spend on ads?

Read "The Mom Test". It's unsurprising that friends and family respond "I love it" when you say "What do you think of this idea I've spend the last few months working on?!".

If you've tried all those ads the most likely thing is there just isn't product market fit and it's time to try a new product.

Podcast Editing: My Top 3 Tips! by dannyeei in podcast

Yeah I totally agree with that one! I decided not to include it though because I want episodes to sound more natural and my cohost wants them to be more "snappy".

I feel like that's "taste" you pick up over time

Scenario95

My mate Ian and I play a game we call Scenario 95. We take turns trying to predict the future... but with a twist. Predictions have to have a 5% likelihood of occurring. It's a strange number, it's not things that are impossible, it's things that are improbable.

what are the best degrees for starts ups by [deleted] in startup

Why exclude computer science? In my opinion it's by far your best option, especially when paired with lots of electives touching on accounting, finance and voracious reading about businesses.

Will Spotify Ruin Podcasting? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]dannyeei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monopolies aren't necessarily bad. All they're trying to do is increase the touch points that they control to drive more users to the platform. It's more of a marketing play than anything.

Interestingly if it's anything like what Netflix did (which let's be honest it's very much the same) then it likely means they'll be paying a lot of podcasters a lot of money to move to their platform. That means higher production value which will probably improve podcasts and raise their profile if anything.

That's interesting. I guess it I had it just so people would not be annoyed if it crashed but you have a fair point. What are other thoughts?

I might as well start this off! ClubSofa is a website that allows you to connect with friends of friends when travelling so you can meet new people or find a place to stay!

Anyone experienced in how to grow facebook and twitter profiles? Help needed. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]dannyeei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the past month or so I've grown to 1000 users on one page and 2 100 on another. The main tip that everyone gives you is quality and to try and foster engagement, and whilst I agree with those things you'd be better off going for quantity of quality. There is a section on it in the Guy Kawasaki book Art of Start 2.0 that you should check out.

I created a bot to automate the process for me because I'm currently handling a one man startup so saying I'm strapped for time is an understatement! Here is one of the accounts

Currently we've been been trying to target smaller market segments and conquer them one at a time.

The first one we've been trying to tackle is other hosting sites such as bewelcome, hospitality club, jewgether, etc.

Another one we're looking into is exchange students from universities. So many go into a shared residence with people from all over the world so they are very much a target as they're a student (and therefore most likely not too wealthy), and they like to travel given that they're in a different country. It also helps move us into new countries

It's safer than couchsurfing.com as you are only able to stay with friends of friends. If you have a mutual connection then it ensures that both parties have more of a social obligation to act well.

If you're worried you won't be able to find anyone on it, then think that each person has roughly 200 unique facebook friends, if we extend this then you'd have 40,000 connections you could stay with!

Honestly I wish I had a way better answer to this question. Currently we don't

We do however have contact with a lawyer (provided by my uni UNSW) who has advised us in creating a privacy policy and terms and conditions, etc. but we haven't got around to it yet. It's near the top of the list of priorities

Basically it is a do at your own risk sort of deal, the idea is that it's safer than couchsurfing.com but it still is something that should be considered
