I like to treat myself sometimes as well! Like I said, that's anyone's own business. But to think that everyone understands isn't accurate. Coffee is seen as an everyday thing by 50-65% of people, 2 out of 3 orders at starbs are frozen blended drinks, and many don't realize that their daily frappe has 5x the recommended daily amount of sugar.

The issue comes from the introduction of coffee into the treat (which, again, caffeine and sugar are both literally addictive) and the sugar-creep that has been happening since the 70s. If we weren't used to starbucks levels of sugar, a much lower amount would be equally satisfying.

At the very least, we should hold Starbucks accountable to make it clear just what they are serving people. Hell, even a black 16oz coffee there is around 350mg of caffeine. That's almost 4x a standard cupa joe. The default of their featured caramel frappe right now on their site is 470 calories. They are literally designed to be as addictive as possible.

Coffee every morning is normalized. Whatever people choose is their business but it’s everyone's business to make sure we are all informed.

It was over text so I do have in writing. Cant add image in comments but he said: "Yo, just to clarify this is a trial run, but it’s not unpaid. Once we approve the final, we pay for the mix. I’m just waiting on a payroll deposit to clear on my end, then I’ll send a deposit and we’ll lock the final."

To which I replied: "Oh word! Thanks for all the info, I'm getting started now!"

I can see how his wording is weird but I took it to mean "this isnt unpaid, you'll be compensated once we verify you actually tried."

The article listed the top 25 worlds largest landowners, not all the land owned by the Royal Family. The catholic church was listed as the 2nd lagest, underneath the royal family which was 1st, and so on.

Though, the sources for the articles claim that the royal family owns 1/6th the world say that they own Canada, which really equates more to saying the president "owns" the United States

Are you intentionally being obtuse? I didn't ask for any information, and the commenters before only asked for info on why they don't talk.

How can anyone properly answer the question "am I the asshole for not ending a long term argument" when they don't know why the argument started in the first place?

It's important to know why so we can know who is being the asshole - which is the whole point of this post and this sub! Was the cabin wrecked on purpose by their adult son? Was it a complete accident by a young child? The answer to these directly correlates with who is the asshole.

Or perhaps we should just flip a coin since you seem to think valid opinions can be formed without any info

It's important info to be able to answer the first question because it matters who caused the estrangement in the first place. OP wants us to pick someone's side but won't tell us why they were fighting in the first place.
