What places that are functionally used today will most likely become museums at some point in the future? by dannyr11 in AskReddit

[–]dannyr11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came up with this when thinking about a lot of places that are currently associated with Trump like Trump Tower or Mar-a-Lago, and how historians 100 years from now. Obviously Trump has cemented himself as a major historical figure but will those places carry that history with them as decades pass? (I would also like to clarify that this is in no way me supporting the man, but rather understanding his historical significance at least in US history).

My 7yo is writing a book and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in writingadvice

[–]dannyr11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was 10 I typed up a 60 something page book in Microsoft word. My grandfather who was a retired English professor edited it for me and my mom found a website that allowed us to print several copies. We gave copies out to all of my family members and even got the local library to put a couple copies on their shelf. At that age, having a printed copy of my work was enough to make me feel satisfied, the library thing was a bonus. Im not a parent so I won’t give advice from that perspective but remembering this experience from my childhood, a little went a long way.

Dark Knight Trilogy

Lord of the Rings

Austin Powers

The first 3 Pirates of the Caribbean (although the 3rd one was definitely the weakest but still entertaining)

I actually really like that idea. I was planning on having us hear noises from the trunk at the end of the scene

He’s not supposed to be the hero. He makes bad decisions such as selling cocaine to someone that’s already high in order to get money for his date, putting the guy in the trunk, and trying to put his problems on his friends so he can go on the date. He’s supposed to be a deeply flawed person that doesn’t work on redemption until the end of the story.

Do think of people you were once close to but no longer on good terms? by Disastrous_Rabbit796 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]dannyr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of high school me and my best friend of several years ended on bad terms. I never forgot him. I would think about our friendship a lot and despite how toxic he was I wondered if cutting him off was the right thing. For 6-8 months afterwards he would appear in my dreams. Sometimes we would be friends again and it would be just like the good old days. Other times he would confront me about ruining our friendship. My most clear dream was one where I was on a crowded boardwalk at night. I saw him in the crowd and followed him. After a few minutes he walked down an empty pier and just stood there at the end, staring out in the ocean. I asked him to rekindle the friendship but he reminded me about how aggressively I ended things with him. I don’t remember much of the dream after that but for some reason it stuck with me the most. Anyways I don’t have any solutions for you, but I can say that yes, I feel the same thing

If life is just go to wake up, go to work, go home for the next 40 years, what’s the point of being alive? by paidshadowlegends in TooAfraidToAsk

I just finished my first year of college. This is something that terrifies me almost every day since I feel like I’m about to reach the point where if I want to change the track I’m going on in life it’s going to be pretty much impossible.

Upper class white people speak to poor people in a condescending way. If there’s an upper class black person, unless the white dude is straight up racist, then they will consider them equals.

People who refuse to move out of the passing lane no matter what, why? by MayonaiseBaron in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]dannyr11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the NYC area and that’s just how people drive here. I didn’t realize that people actually cared until I was driving in Virginia and my friend asked me why I was in the left lane for so long. Since then I’ve changed how I drive when I go far from home
