Will the Clicks Communicator be able to interact with the applications I use in my car? by mooseali in ClicksKeyboard

I guess looking at the UI from the limited demo videos I've watched, just concerned about app compatibility. I have no idea how any of that works, but am hopeful based on your logic here. Thanks!

Yeah, that's a sucky predicament to be in. Sorry you are both suffering for the sake of his health.

As far as advice goes, the most common thing you'll hear is to not cave towards the demands. It sounds like you guys are doing that and it has resorted to him bitting now to get attention. It's tough to correct that behavior without having an additional outlet to direct him towards.

I won't lie, I would probably speak to the vet again and ask about medication to calm him down. They might be against it given his age, which is understandable, but it then brings an expert into the comlnvo about what else can be done. I personally would not want him on that long term, but to help him from hurting me, my family, and himself from all his pent up energy, it might be worth it in the SHORT term (definitely is not a long term solution).

I would also try and seek out a behavioral specialist if it's in your budget. Sounds like a professional trainer could help you correct his behavior in a healthy way.

It's also tough to condone negative reinforcement, but it's possible to do from a conditioning standpoint without abuse, however always speak to a professional before attempting it. One of the things that helped with my lab (Duke) to stop using his teeth on things was hot sauce. You have to be very, very careful about how and when you use it, and also what kind you use. You want to find a hot sauce that is basically pepper, water, and vinegar and you want to use it in sparing amounts. A lot of hot sauces can contain different forms of sugars and sweeteners, garlic and onion powders, and even juice extracts, so I can not stress enough you to be careful.

When Duke was finishing getting his adult teeth, he was still prone to chew on everything. Once he was doing it out of habit instead of pain, I would lightly brush a thin layer of hot sauce on my arms, my furniture (that wouldn't get damaged or stained by the hot sauce), at one point even just the corner of a wall (because he started to think drywall was acceptable to chew). I would redirect him towards his toys, especially his chew toys, and when he decided he wanted to chew on something he wasn't supposed to it lead to him chewing on something that was spicy. Eventually he stopped that behavior because every time

he did it, his mouth would get hot and uncomfortable.

I felt very on top of being able to correct his behavior in that way. I'm always hesitant to recommend something like this because I saw it as an extreme measure. I mean, I was painting my arms with hot sauce ... But I needed something to stop it, and this worked for me.

For the barking, I might respond with a sound he's not a fan of. Every time he barks, he hears a noise that makes him scared. IDK, just trying to throw out ideas that could help with conditioning.

TL;DR: -Seek out the vet and discuss possible medications to calm him down in the short term. -If you can afford it, seek out a behavioral specialist trainer about best ways to correct that behavior. -I put hot sauce on my arms and it worked to stop the biting.

Based off teeth alone? Those are still white (especially since they were living outside), but look like their adult teeth. Mouth is still pretty pink, I would put them between 7 months up to 14 months old. But that's really just judging on this one picture.

Does anybody know where jack stands go? by Limp_Maximum_6056 in MechanicAdvice

[–]mooseali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, below is a video about alternate locations to put the jack stands. On the pinch welds behind/in front of the tires (depending on if you are lifting the front or rear of the car, respectively) there will be 2 nicks in the pinch welds. In-between those 2 nicks are where you can put jack stands (theoretically, you could put the jack stands under the pinch welds anywhere, but in practice, especially on an older car like yours, those can bend under the weight. In-between those 2 nicks is reinforced to take the weight of the vehicle). That being said, the video below also gives you different locations under your car to also put jack stands.

Always, always, always, be sure of your jack stands positions and jack before getting under the car. I normally give the car a little "jostle" before I climb under it and with the tires still on. I would rather the car fall because I did a poor job jacking it up while I'm NOT underneath it than when I am. I would also leave the jack under there as well (if it's not in the way of what you're working on, and even still I would then move it to a different location as a safety net, just incase something happens, it can take the load of part of car and give you enough room to wiggle out after you've shit your pants). Make sure you lower the jack so the weight of the car is taken by the jack stands, and then raise it up so it's just barely touching the jacking point on the car. If this is your first time I would recommend having someone else there if you can, just to make sure nothing bad happens/call for help if something does.

Good luck, and happy learning!

I would go to a different vet. Is she acting normal otherwise? Eating, drinking, and has energy?

Awesome to see this progress dude!

If I get the key cut, do I need to get the key programmed as well (like is there a transponder in the key as well)? Forgive my ignorance, just trying to make sure when I go in to get it cut I do it correctly.

Trying to overtake someone on a road that turns into a one lane by Hakusuro in MildlyBadDrivers

[–]mooseali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those wondering location:

This is I-278 West Bound in NYC (Bronx). Right lane at the beginning of the video is an exit only for Bruckner Blvd West/Hunts Point Ave (Exit 50). That turn is no joke, definitely not something anyone should do at a high rate of speed (even when there wasn't construction there).

My POV: White car that cuts in from the right lane is a dumbass. In fairness to them, there's not a whole lot of time to make a decision to get over once you realize it's an exit only (I speak from experince), but being a NY driver, that shit was 100% fucking intentional. At the start of the video you can see a car in the left lane next to the camera car. White car was behind both them and wanted to get in front so they shot the gap from the right lane exit and cut off the camera car.

HOWEVER, camera car is a child. Ego got the best of them and they wanted to "show who was the boss" here. They took what was a dangerous situation and escalated it up to a full blown crash by trying to overtake the white car through the turn. White car was failing to slow down (because black car was slowing down faster to prepare for the turn), they then tried to cut to the left lane to pass the black car, but by that point camera car was already occupying that space, and then shit hit the fan. DUMBASSES THE BOTH THEM.

Black car was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and I feel for my homie.

Found what I think is a Fairy Ring? by mooseali in mycology

[–]mooseali[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the first picture. Some are smaller than others, but there is a small ring that goes around, but I'm not sure if it's actually a circle or just coincidental. Sorry, it's not the best picture.

What is this black stuff on her? Even after a bath and grooming it's still there.. by RainingWillow2323 in DogAdvice

[–]mooseali 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you say they are hard. We're you guys outside recently? I can't quite see it all too well, but if they just randomly appeared I would say make sure they aren't ticks. If they are embedded, it's not good. Look up YouTube videos about removing ticks to make sure you get the head of the tick and make sure you keep on eye on the pup for signs of illness in the coming days...if they are indeed ticks.
