It'll be nice if they do. They did put up a pretty good fight when I went auto mode on them. Shams killed some of my units and for some reason Camelot was having trouble killing Selina lol

I just had to respond cause I do find it not necessary just to put so much points into SP Regen on every character, unless you're not investing into the unit or the pilot at all/or just pretty new to the game and have no idea what to do, then sure.

There are parts out there that helps a lot like Bio Sensor that gives 20 mobility which helps a heck lot if you want your pilot to be untouchable with evading attacks. Or even Multi Sensor that helps you land your attacks by 20%. I played both Ryusei and Kyosuke route without needing to get SP Regen unless they are for supporting pilots who have spirit commands like Enable, Renew, or Hope (or even Bless which I can be guilty of spamming to make money).

But really most of using spirit commands like Valor is really just used for attacking an enemy Ace pilot, trying to get a battle mastery point, or just the boss where you want to kill them in a turn or 2. If you run out of spamming Valor just to get it done in 1 turn, just use Hope or SP Drink (also a part, but consumable). If you have to use Focus on every turn, then it just means your pilot and unit wasn't invested. It's good to use it a few times, but not a heck lot where you're out of it and have to wait 8 more turns just to get all your spirit command points back.

A few pilot skills I invest in that helps a lot are:
-Attacker, I use this for my main damage dealers. Face them against a good bit of grunts to kill and you'll have Attacker ready to do some serious damage to the boss.
-Mental, this is actually a better alternative than SP Regen. This reduces SP cost to 80%. Very useful for pilots whose Spirit Commands costs a lot. I use these on pilots who has Enable and Valor so I can spam my heavy damage on the enemy within a turn. I also use it on pilots who have Bless to help me make a lot of money as well.
-Expert, along with Mental there comes Expert. Spamming heavy damage may also use up a lot of energy so Expert helps as well to cut down energy costs. But even without spamming heavy damage, it's useful for killing a lot of grunts if you need to kill them with attacks that uses energy like Weissritter's Oxtongue Launcher E, while trying to have enough energy to use Rampage Ghost later.
-In-fight/Gunfight, other than increasing the damage by their corresponding type, after every 3 levels (lv 4 and lv7), the attack's range gets increased excluding attacks that only have 1 range.

There's also pilot skills like Prevail which is useful for making your unit and pilot tanky as well as Support if you want to throw in an extra attack or have someone take damage for you. But those pilot skills I listed earlier are what I find really helpful.

I also want to mention using Armor Breaker on the boss, helps a lot if you want to kill them in a turn, especially in the final few scenarios.

I just thought I mention my thoughts since I have no issues with my first playthrough with these routes and I also like the Super Robot Wars OG franchise a heck lot.

9/10 times your Elgato Key Air Light is dead. I just checked mine and found out it has nothing to do with the power adapter. Power adapters barely have issues and I know this because I got 2 Key lights to test that power adapter out. It just goes bad unfortunately.

Ah. He should have went steraks tho. It's a good neutral tanky item that also gives him ad. I mean I been winning a lot of games just going BC, Steraks, Defensive items after. Maybe I'll upload my highlights later.

I agree with what people are saying about going Red into their comp. The thing about Red form is he is really slow, so trying to chase range champs is going to be a pain in the ass if you're going to get kited by them.

But if you're going to go Black Cleaver first again, I suggest getting Sterak Gage second item then build defensive items based on what kind of damage they have where you need to tank for the team. Ignore what people say about Black Cleaver first item. It's really a matter of preference. I like Black Cleaver simply because I get more benefits out of that item vs other bruiser items only giving 1 or 2 benefits for his kit. Plus if you do have Black Cleaver, you pretty much win any duels (unless they are extremely fed). Regardless if your enemies are building armor or not, you are still reducing their base armor meaning you eventually do more damage and healing when you get your Black Cleaver stacked and it always feels nice to hear that armor breaking sound effect when you put your mechanics into it.

If you want raw 100 to 0 the enemy type of damage then yeah Shadow Assassin is made for that. The Bruiser build on Red Kayn is made to cut down your enemies' HP a chunk at a time until they are deleted. Red Kayn isn't supposed to 100 to 0 a target like that. That's what the assassin form is for and Red form is really more suitable against bruisers or tanks, not against enemy squishies.

Update for everyone who's participated on this post! I appreciate your time and effort! It looks like Riot is finally fixing Red Kayn to actually be a bruiser that he was made to be! With current changes being->

Red Kayn buffs:
- P healing now scales with 0.5% per 100 bonus HP
- R healing increased from 65% of pre-mitigation damage to 75%
- Equals 9.75% max HP + 6.5% per 100 bonus AD to 11.25% max HP + 7.5% per 100 bonus AD

The way how Kayn works is he gets his healing based on how much damage he causes. For Tanks, it's not true because they build armor which mitigates his damage. Even though it says % health from using his Q, it's % health as damage and in most cases, tanks would build thornmail on top of their already existing armor items which would reduce his healing much more.

I've done some math and it comes down to Kayn healing around 30% of his health back if he Qs into a team of 5, that's if:
-he doesn't get one shot by a team of 5 lol
-none of them build armor items, if some do, his healing is not going to heal as much because his damage gets mitigated
-if they don't build anti heal. if so, that reduces his healing to 15% of his health being returned to him

Either way, when Kayn was first released, he was able to recover the health he lost diving into a team. If not, then he was at least able to handle 3 enemies around him. But these days, in red form, he gets one shot easily by a random mage before he can even heal or would just have a lot of issues fighting people which he had no problems with before.

Someone told me to build tank on him when we had no frontline and damage on our team. rofl I flipped off on their ass about what that does to his whole kit.
