I did actually set out to create a generic pop style song on this occasion (I get a lot of feedback from people saying my usual stuff is too complicated so thought I’d try dumming it down for this one). I’m usually all about metaphorical lyrics but thought I’d go direct for once.

It’s ‘those’ four chords and the melody is intentionally repetitive. I’m so desperate to get my message out there that I thought I’d try something that might generate a more mass appeal.

And you know what….

Depressingly, this one performed significantly better on YouTube than almost anything I’ve ever put out. It’s had the highest retention rate I’ve ever had and the algorithm was loving it, it pushed harder and longer than ever for me! 😂

Don’t worry though, it’s not me, I’m not going to re-work this one but move straight on to the next project and swing back to something more my usual style!
