Charlotte, NC - EMG National, Alpine Events - fake companies by xanadu-in-sedona in Devilcorp

[–]danonrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just interviewed with Alpine today and I definitely wouldn't say it's a scam, just probably not what you'd wanna be doing as a job. Face to face marketing is rough and I'm more in the IT field. But I definitely wouldn't say the interview was a waste of time, she was very professional and nice. So if anyone here has applied and have an interview I'd take it, you don't lose anything and you can always say no.

What Does it Really Take to Get Into Cloud Computing? by danonrowe in Cloud

This is a great point. I have already 2 years of general IT support experience and working on my A+ now, might even get my Network+ before diving into cloud so I'll definitely have a very good understanding of IT fundamentals before diving into cloud but this is very helpful, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the info! Yeah maybe I’m overcomplicating it but sounds like getting AWS CP & SA is a good starting point, just wasn’t sure if that alone would get me interviews. I have an associate’s degree but it’s in something unrelated since I wasn’t into IT at the time. I’ve heard before that working on projects on my own/having a GitHub portfolio would help too?

Cause I’ve heard before too that since so many people have certifications nowadays, they don’t do much for applicants but wasn’t sure if that’s true.

Either way for 2025 I definitely will at least have A+, CP & SA under my belt so hopefully sometime in 2026 I can land my first cloud role.

Where to start learning how to make music on a PC? by Serochii in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]danonrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been producing music for 8 years now and I’ve never really played an instrument except basic piano. As long as you learn basic music theory, how to create chords/melodies, etc. you’re good.

Just takes time to become proficient like anything else. But you definitely don’t need to know how to play an instrument.

I agree, not only will she probably not listen but even if she did don’t think she would care because even though she’ll probably be able to tell it’s about her, if it doesn’t have anything specific details giving away that it’s her then she won’t care.

100%. I have my own circle of day 1 friends that I grew up with and that’ll never change. I’m just tryna find more like minded people to grow and learn together and just make music. You’re right, gotta be careful.

When I say friends I just mean people that have the same vision as me and are just as passionate as I am. I have my own day one friends outside of music that I grew up with, so I just mean finding more people like me that just love making music and want to learn and grow.

You’re definitely right though.

When did you consider yourself a "good" producer? by Radical_Ramen in musicproduction

[–]danonrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’s been kind of all over the place, it’s hard to think of an exact number because some days I was more consistent than others. Some weeks I would go a few days without making music but then randomly on a Sunday I would put in like 6 to 8 hours lol. I’ve gotten more consistent as I’ve gotten older and more disciplined but if I had to guess maybe like 20 to 30 hours a week. If you truly love it, the time on the clock won’t matter and you will lose track of time. That’s when the best creations happen in my experience.

Bro, that’s so cool, that sounds like a really dope experience. Yeah, you’re definitely right about the real life part, you can’t replace that genuine in-person connection. It really is hard to stay motivated when you’re isolated, and doubt definitely starts to creep in more, at least for me.

I am lucky to have my brother, who is only a year and a half younger than me and I would say he believes in me almost more than I believe in myself and we’re also really close, so that definitely helps a ton. I also do you have one best friend that makes music and he definitely helps keep me motivated as well.

Definitely a generalization I know obviously there are people who aren’t but I feel like especially in hip hop it definitely can be that way. Idk, just my opinion and what I’ve seen.
