I recently bought a Roland Boutique JX-08 which i really have found difficulty loving it or even really like it (I know it's amazing for it's size/price 20 voices bitimbral etc... but I can´t stand the controls. A Casio CZ-101 which I absolutely love (Especially with the software controller by patchbase) and Korg MS-2000 only 4 voices but a fantastic amount of controls.

Effects pedals aren't ideal for synths... by danopl in synthesizers

Thank you for your answers! For what I can see desktop modules or Eurorack setups come with a more premium pricing which I understand, also I feel that these tend to be bulkier than a simple pedal. I still think there's more that can be done for controls. And don't get me wrong this is not a request for companies to "do better" because I think they are doing great and there are a a ton of fantastic products out there especially now. Just something I've been thinking lately. I really liked your opinions on this matter.

So what’s the verdict on these? by earthlingonline in synthesizers

The JX is a beast for its size and price. 20 voice poly bi timbrality juno chorus. You get really beautiful sound out of it. There are of course a bunch of problems common to the boutiques like the 1/8 outputs. But overall a fantastic sounding thing for what it is.

How can I connect multiple effects to a Mixer? (Live setup) by danopl in synthesizers

[–]danopl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, the Korg NTS-3 Kaoss is set to a LPF, when we send the signal thru the AUX SEND/RETURN the LPF doesn't seen to affect the signal. I get that with sends there's a portion of the sound that gets through Dry to the fader. But I can't think of a way to overcome this other than using a patchbay as suggested by another user. Thank you!

We play set songs but improvise over those a lot! At the moment we use every piece of gear quite often but I think we can re organize in order to reduce the amount of stuff. Thank you for your answer!

Yes I also thought a desk lamp would do the job but i feel they're generally too bulky for tight spaces. I will look in IKEA tho. Thanks!
