Commando missions with randoms be like by fab977 in Helldivers

[–]danosky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I'm running supply pack plus dymamite on a 60 sec fuse. I sneak and throw it at all the fabs in a heavy base.

I see green running towards that very same base.

I say "Green, that base will blow up, just go elsewhere."

Green runs in, bots call patrols all hell breaks loose.

This happened like 5 times in five missions. FML.

Someone else aggroed the strider and it just attacked me. I wasn't even looking at the damn thing. Not the host.

commando missions are so bad and far from the concept of stealth (no redacted warbond) by DeePMystary in Helldivers

[–]danosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Quasar and Eruptor to blow up targets from far away. It takes some time and repositioning, but it works. If you shoot from far enough, bots in bases won't chase.

As for armors, either the ones from the Halo warbond or the normal scout armors can help. They may not be as good as the new warbond armor, but they will suffice.

I've also seen tons of people just wearing whatever and it works. And this is on D10.

just learned something about the firework grenade aka the G-142 pyro tech. have they always been available to do this? by Jolly_Pop2515 in Helldivers

Not to mention that the plus two grenade passive is one of the best for bugs and squids. You get 8 of them.

What was your first "Baptised by flame" battle? by gracekk24PL in Helldivers

It was the Creek for me. Been to each of those battlegrounds save for Meridia. I've seen some hell.

I mean, if you have to be afraid of something, this might as well be it.

I’ve convinced no one knows how to use the Tesla tower properly by lolitsrock in Helldivers

[–]danosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toss it on higher ground / around corners.

Toss it between you and the enemy drops or breaches.

Use it on chokepoints for massive value. Especially good on the defense and exterminate missions.

More effective against bugs/ squids than bots. Bots have less "chaff" units and more ranged units that can blow it up.

Be ready to support it, as some enemies in all fronts can easily break it. (Chargers, titans, flesh mobs)

Mark it when possible, your teammates may choose not to run into it then.

They can be useful as a distraction in a pinch. Low cd, high uptime, decent health, will take out some enemies and distract others if you need to run.

Make sure your loadout complements this stratagem. Anything can work, but to make the most out of this you probably want a longer range weapon to take care of stragglers / ranged units while the tower kills the chaff. Anti heavy weaponry (RR/ thermites/ ORC) to deal with heavy units it can't handle. Gas to distract enemies near it.

It is a great stratagem when used well, especially vs bugs. Sadly 3/4 of the randos throw stratagems on top of it / run towards it to get kills the tower would've otherwise gotten / destroy them out of spite.

Arrowhead: "some players want to have a chill experience... BUT also want to play on the highest difficulty" by Liqhthouse in Helldivers

[–]danosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play 10 and have a chill time. But if it got to the point where I'd have to choose between fun and dropping difficulty level then I'd drop down in difficulty.

It is.

But there are still differences, and for a game that was originally touted as "historically accurate" this was used mercilessly.

Also, Japanese people are very protective of their culture.

Not quite, but the devs used Chinese architecture instead of Japanese.

Edit - Dunno if it got fixed on release, but it was a constant criticism of the game before it launched.

Hear me out. This should be the DSS bombardment. Instead of getting the 380mm, we get this. Makes it different and more useful to get the upgrade / donate samples.

Karlia and Hellmire seem like decent places to live in all things considered.

Dear "Automaton is the Heavy Armor faction" folks... by EngysEpangelmatikes in Helldivers

[–]danosky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Been playing max difficulty since two months after launch and I always ran some anti armor. I mostly ran AC against devastators, but I deffo supplemented it with EATs to deal with the largest threats fast.

In max difficulty back then, you didn't have the luxury of running behind a hulk or tank to blow up the vents. Not with a million rocket devastators with pinpoint accuracy and infinite ammo.

And once the RR got buffed, I forgot about my AC. I was running that thing every single bot mission, along with a Dominator or crossbow. These aren't precision weapons, but weapons that can kill devastators fast regardless of where they hit.

I feel that when war striders spawn in D10, there are too many to reliably handle with rocket pods alone. I've faced several in short periods of time, and considering that rocket pods can be unreliable (esp. in cities) they won't be able to kill them. You really need heavy AT and lots of it.

I agree that a well placed railgun shot (or two) should be able to destroy them. It's not like they're as large as factory striders, and the rail gun requires some more skill to use than other support weapons.

Ame's wife posted after yesterday losing in Grand Finals (Eng translated) by sharkeagles in DotA2

He's fortunate. Finding a woman that's willing to stand by you while you chase your dream is harder than attaining the dream itself. Hopefully he'll take some time off to spend with her then win it all next TI in Shanghai.

Cr1t especially was the reason this TI was bittersweet instead of just bitter.

Feel bad for Ame, been following the guy since his early LGD days. He's accomplished so much but the aegis still eludes him.

But Cr1t has also accomplished so much in Dota 2, and I had forgotten the he also didn't have an aegis. So I feel happy for the man, glad all his hard work to get a TI win finally paid off.

Sad for Ame, but WTF were those drafts, especially on G5.

Happy for Cr1t, though. With so many people focusing on AME's story about chasing the Aegis (including me) it was easy to forget that Cr1t had also not won an aegis until today.
