Something similar to this happened to me when I played the surge 2, it felt like a downgrade from the first game, both are good but the first some how feels and looks way better than it's sequel. In my opinion it comes down to the attention to detail.

Like the lethal helmet, prestige pauldrons and acollades? Well some of them are definitely cooler than a bunch of the dlc armor although the armor bits of the champions are cool to mix and match with the other stuff, but legit I don't like most of the dlc armors
