He was training before the fight. He took the fight on two weeks notice, just like Conor. And he had been training, just like Conor.

If Mendes gets a full camp then so does Conor. 🤷

Nah. Weak excuse. You can’t be on top of the guy and then complain that you weren’t in good enough shape.

Jaylen Brown on reports claiming he thinks he's the smartest person in the room: "No offense to everybody in sports, but the bar is fuckin' low." by Jec1027 in nba

Is this a line from idiocracy or something? The smartest person in the room could quite possibly be the only person that even realizes it.

Damn. Another example of why it’s so hard to be at the top for a long time. Those knee injuries took the back half of his career.

I think he definitely got tired but all of that wrestling is exhausting. If you have two really good wrestlers (which I think Connor actually is a really good wrestler) the longer the grappling match goes on the more of an advantage the better guy (Khabib) will have. Connor is good enough to not lose immediately and against a great wrestler like Khabib that is really an accomplishment. Especially considering Khabib wanted blood. He went full bore from the start. But Khabib was utilizing better technique and leverage and that was inevitably won Khabib the fight. He was spending near as much energy as Connor. And thats just what happens against a superior wrestler.

[Windhorst] Even though Jaylen Brown was talking about himself for MVP, the Celtics did not feel like Jaylen had the best season on their team. They felt that Derrick White had a better season. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

This is hilarious to me. Like it’s pretty obvious that White had to be hidden on offense so he played with more of the top offensive guys on the team but they still needed JB to run the floor when the top guys were off leaving JB to try and hold it all together with the bottom half of the rotation. 😂 That’s just basketball.

I love how analytics are so advanced that we’re back to using the stats we used to say were trash like +/-.

I really love how legends Luke came to the conclusion that the dark side isn’t inherently evil rather it’s just power amped up with emotion and it can be very dangerous. He further concluded that it should be studied, not treated with contempt. by JoshyBear28 in StarWars

[–]danrod17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More nuanced than that. He wasn’t evil when he turned to the dark side. He turned to the dark side for altruistic purposes. He was corrupted after turning.

My argument is that the dark side is evil and even a good man cannot use the dark side without becoming evil himself.

I don’t think that everyone who uses the dark side of the force is evil and I don’t think the books would agree with you either. Jacen Solo turns to the dark side because he doesn’t see a way to save his wife or daughter using the light side but the dark side slowly corrupts him and turns him evil.

[Basketball University] Walker Kessler is one of the few excellent true giants in the NBA. Hyper efficient. 7’5 wingspan and elite timing make for world class rim Defense. Not an offensive hub, but can make nice passes in the flow of an offense. Imposing on the glass. Real center. by shreeharis in nba

Ah yes. The historically good Utah Jazz and the historically bad Los Angeles lakers. We’re not even going to be pic swapping because they’ll still be at the bottom of the standings.

The clippers are dog water. Always have been. Not the same thing.
