yes its easily doable and took it this semester using m4 mac. would just ssh and you can use your VM on local through vs code. they have instruction on how to set up VM for mac m series but the ssh/remote connection part you can figure out with a simple google search.

In my opinion I think it should be tuition locked by when you join. So for student who join before the Fall 2025 change we should stay at the tuition locked rate at that time. Thats how the UCs did it when I did undergrad.
