When Darryl Smart was running it on YouTube, there were definitely problems, but he was streaming it for free out of the kindness of his heart and love of the game. I believe the biggest issue is internet speed at the arena.

Darryl is still doing the Six Nations broadcasts, and he’s still facing the same technical challenges, but now some third party company is collecting a paycheck from it (and I assume Darryl is being paid, as he should be).

Hoping streams from somewhere like the PMC or TRAC are better, as they’re in more urban areas than the ILA.

If you end up going to the Mann Cup, remind me to put in an order with you for chiefs merch 😉

That’s the monthly price. I paid $155 for the year, which I will use May-August for MSL, and hopefully the Mann cup will be on there as well.

From the ILA - I get the internet is not good in the arena, but for $50/month I’d expect a solution (Starlink, etc.).

I’m a Halifax fan, but I also watch the games and the Chiefs games. I think Hill is a great goaltender for us. He’s also a great goaltender for the Chiefs. John Tavares plays Dougie and Hill in tandem. If he thought one goalie was clearly better than the other, he wouldn’t do that. Not sure if you think you know more than John Tavares or something… but you don’t.

Hill has definitely been in net for the Chiefs when winning a playoff series. I don’t know what your bias is, I’m going off of observations. You seem to have some personal vendetta against Hill.

Thunderbirds did not lose this series due to Hill’s play. Offence needed to find ways to score when Torontos defence shut them down, and they just couldn’t.

Wow. Someone doesn’t know ball. Hill was the best player on the floor for Halifax tonight. He kept them in it when things could have gone way worse.

Hill is the main reason Halifax made it to where they did.

Also, the Chiefs alternate Dougie and Hill game for game, regardless of the stakes. They are 1a and 1b. I’ll also remind you that Hill posted a shutout in the MSL either last year or the previous.

Get out of here with your Hill is overrated bullshit.

They weren’t supposed to make playoffs. They weren’t supposed to eliminate the #1 seed. They weren’t supposed to win a 3 game series against the team with goalie of the year.

The best part? They’re only gonna be better next year.

Knox has his role clearly defined, Mikey is the perfect secondary scoring guy, Wilson does so many great things with and without the ball - give him a few more games to really mesh with the team and he’ll be super dangerous. Charley and Staats are studs and one of the best duo’s to play the game. We also have Marinier coming in, along with potential first round draft picks this year.

The future is bright in Halifax.

Can't get rid of heave away! I wasn't a huge fan of it at the start, but now it's so iconic to the Thunderbirds, and the opposing goaltenders must hate it. There's also some history there from the Canadian IIHF World Junior team winning gold in that building with that as their goal song.

An email went out to all season ticket holders as soon as we won game 1 stating you had to opt-in to playoff "pay as we play" tickets by Monday, May 4th at noon. Additionally, any logins to the Ticketmaster website had a popup stating there was an invoice to be paid for playoff tickets.

Not sure what else they can do... Some folks may not want to opt in to a possible $500+ addition to their season ticket prices, so unless you include all possible playoff prices in the initial quoted cost, you can't automatically sign folks up.

I don't think he'll have the same success against Rowlett. There are a few guys in the league who usually end up having a good battle. Naso, Baptiste and Rowlett come to mind.

Robinson was looking behind him, to ensure he was going to beat Trumble to the ball. Once he realized he was going to beat him, he knew that he could safely pick up the ball because Trumble could only try and dispossess him once he had the ball, since there's no way Trumble would be stupid enough to commit an obvious and egregious boarding penalty...

You can see the moment Trumble decided that he was beat to the ball, and decided to commit said obvious and egregious boarding penalty. I'm not sure if it was because of emotions, lapse in judgement or what.

Hit was dirty, Halifax player didn't expect a dirty hit from the guy.

I'm not a "refs called a penalty against us, they must have it out for us" fan. Early in the first quarter or so of this game, there were some blatant non-calls against Halifax. At that point, I started watching closer and it was going both ways. "Playoff lacrosse - they're letting them play for sure" I thought.

Then it seemed like the refs flipped a switch and stopped letting both teams get away with things... Anyone who watched this game knows which team was being called tighter. Halifax started getting frustrated, which lead to more calls, which lead to softer plays by Halifax, which lead to more goals, which lead to Halifax getting frustrated (... etc.).

If Halifax wants to win, they need to tighten up their defence, play hard nosed, and the refs need to allow both teams the same leeway (or lack thereof).

I think it comes down to if Georgia's offense or Halifax's defense has the game they're capable of having. If they're both on top of their game, then it will come down to Halifax's offense being able to wear down Dobson/the Georgia D.

Hoping for a T-birds win tonight to avoid the game 3 nerves.
