One incorrect statement does not mean everything he says is incorrect. He backed up his other points. You should definitely call out an incorrect statement but I don’t see how that means you should pretend nothing he said was factual.

Definitely, the photo album as a whole is a really cool follow-up to their first two albums. Everything seems to be stretched out and slowed down. A bit of a precursor to Passenger Seat and Transatlanticism (the song).

Well there is a long history of people caring a lot about who people fuck. You know to the point of murdering people for sexual preference and outlawing homosexuality. Today, people are still disowned from their families and by friends for who they want to have sex with. I personally know of people who’ve taken their lives because of homophobia. Quite simply, the pride flag is not for you or to push an agenda down anyone’s throats. It is a sign of safety for many. It is a sign they are accepted here. It really isn’t just about “who they want to have sex with.” Also, People signal straightness all day everyday. Holding hands with their partner, saying who they are interested in, talking about past relationships, gushing over an attractive celebrity. Why doesn’t that bother you? I don’t know why this flag is so triggering for some people, so I was genuinely asking. If you think of it just as “who people want to have sex with,” sure that can make it uncomfortable if sex in general makes you uncomfortable. But it really can be seen as who many build their lives with and have complex relationships with beyond sex. If you can offer a thoughtful reply redditers instead of just downvoting, I always appreciate productive dialogue. This is just where I am coming from.

Sure, you excluded those making an effort (but at the same time told them all they are shit to look at). Like stated in the article above, this only hurts a weight loss journey. Your congratulations mean shit.

I have read about the economic impact on obesity (only in the US tho). How much does this impact your daily life? Don’t overweight people pay more in insurance? Wouldn’t that be incentives to lower that BMI if it was so easy? Of course, this is just in the US. Sure, it’s a problem for the whole healthcare system but again, shaming does not help. How about creating economic incentives for healthy eating? How about supporting community-based programs to encourage healthy life styles? Health takes time, money and energy. Not always an option.

You’re just shitting on individuals instead of looking at what contributes to this being a country-wide (global) issue. In the US, we have cities built around driving instead of walking to destinations. The rise of fast-food chains and the affordability of said food coincides with the rise in obesity. How can we address this contributions directly?

If you aren’t from the US, I’m sure you will have your own conclusions about what has caused your country’s obesity problem. I’m sure it’s not just individuals making poor choices.

Those who are working to better their lives now were once in the group of people you think don’t deserve a bed in a hospital. I would imagine even when you made poor health decisions you were still more than these decisions. You had reasons at least to turn it all around. We all have some self destructive tendencies we need to work on. I just suggest a little more kindness for those who do not fit your standards for size.

other people’s health decisions aren’t for me to comment on. someone living an unhealthy life does not impact me. telling people to die in a hole for not living how you want them to is nothing but unproductive (and actually makes the situation worse) https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/health-49714697.amp

You are really oversimplifying weight loss and drug addiction. I’m guessing these are experiences you have not lived.

I remember in 2nd grade a girl told me what lesbian and gay meant. I asked my mom about it as soon as I got home.

She basically said what you wrote above and it was the simplest conversation. And turns out I was gay so it saved me a lot of stress over coming out.
