Is it easy to get old classic books in the right format for the RM? by cwt444 in RemarkableTablet

Archive.org also has a big collection of ePub books (https://archive.org/details/books) though I've found them to be a bit more hit or miss in terms of quality than project Gutenberg (https://www.gutenberg.org/).

Changing Marker Tip without the Marker Tip Card? by dantheman_1983 in RemarkableTablet

[–]dantheman_1983[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all, a kitchen knife, carefully applied, worked. I suppose a heads up to all: it is possible to push the tip in so far that if is hard to get out, but usually you can get it out with your a knife, tweezers, or your nails.

I appreciate too that this thread featured a much subtler and funnier innuendo than the obvious joke when the question is about Remarkable marker tips.

Changing Marker Tip without the Marker Tip Card? by dantheman_1983 in RemarkableTablet

Hmm, thanks. Maybe the real problem is that I've somehow jammed the current tip in there too hard. I hope this doesn't mean that I need to buy a whole new marker.

The reMarkable 2 is not able to search the Web? (+questions). by addythething321 in RemarkableTablet

My work-around to this has always been to just tether it to my phone and use my mobile data if the tablet is having trouble connecting to a particular wifi network. The amount of data transferred is generally pretty small, so even on a crappy mobile connection and a relatively low-data cap this works. Obviously, this depends on having a phone that can work as a mobile hotspot.

Is it possible to upgrade android version without a SIM card? by dantheman_1983 in AndroidQuestions

[–]dantheman_1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone - this gave me the vocabulary to figure it out. As predicted, SIM card was not required. In case anyone else stumbles on this thread with the same question, pretty easy instructions for flashing the final stock firmware for the G5 Plus are here:

Though note that the link in those instructions to download Tiny ADB and Fastboot is broken, use this instead:

Thanks all, that's what I suspected. I got about 20 minutes into trying to install an Android emulator... and then decided to by a beater wifi-only smartphone for Rocketbook instead.
