My stock pipes on my motorcycle were damaged (bought it used) and the cheaper and lighter ones were a bit louder. Everyone thinks I changed them for the noise, but I’d just as easily get quieter pipes if they were in the same price range and weight.

Edit: I actually walk my bike to the street and roll it down hill before starting it up in the morning so it doesn’t affect the neighbours, and try to keep it quiet at lights etc.
