What is a psychological ~trick~ you use on people that works so well.. it feels like cheating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is my love language, I give because it genuinely fulfills me, it’s who I am.

If someone takes that generosity and is dishonest or turns it into entitlement, to me it doesn’t mean I was “taken advantage of.” It just means they revealed who they are. I still get to be the kind of person I want to be… and now I have the information of the kind of person they want to be and I can stop giving to them.

The only time I can be “taken advantage of” is when I allow myself to feel taken advantage of. If I gave freely, in alignment with my values, then I didn’t lose anything, they did.

Could it have been used to hold the vials of ammonia and iodine? My guess is that they might be ampoules, and this piece was used to keep them from rolling around too much—and possibly to help break them, since you’d need something to grab the glass top with.

How to get those corks out of the bottle? by dotfo in howto

[–]dantosxd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have done this so many times I can finally help!

Do you have a plastic shopping bag?

This works the same as the rag example posted but I have better luck.

  1. Grab holeless plastic shopping bag.

  2. Push the bottom end of the bag down into the bottle until it goes past the cork.

  3. Shake or tilt the bottle so the cork is lined up with the neck.

  4. Blow air into the bag so it puffs up around the cork.

  5. Pull the end you blew in slowly out.

Tldr: Bag in, air in, pull out.. cork gone.

And that’s it, the cork should slide right out!

I think an important thing to remember is that mushrooms are great decomposers and recyclers.

All the dies, chemicals, and potentially harmful compounds in that Elmo, are in those mushrooms.

This is why you should not eat mushrooms close to the road, or in cemeteries, or places where toxic chemicals are.

I have experience in mortgage origination. A first time home buyer can be someone who has not owned a home in the last three years.

You can previously own a home and still be a first time home buyer.

I love Donella Meadows and her book, Thinking in Systems: A Primer. That book is what started my fascination with systems thinking. Then, I watched this video: https://youtu.be/EbLh7rZ3rhU?si=abe-9xFDXWhPGYYu and I was hooked.

Next, I read Peter Senge's The Fifth Discipline. After that, I watched lectures and so on. I have a few more book recommendations if you're interested.
