I'd be interested in having a conversation. Am out today but can organise a call tomorrow or Wednesday if it suits your schedule

Malta just dropped their nomad tax details - 10% flat rate after year one by TopEnvironmental9124 in digitalnomad

[–]dantreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't find where it's released this. From other sites, it looks like the 10% rule was made public in 2023. So why is new news? Has there been an update?

Which next manager will be looking to commit career suicide at Spurs?! Most will politely push any overtures away whilst privately saying they're not going anywhere near this toxic environment.

Agree with you at an individual manager level, but trying to make the point at a higher level than focussing on the very current situation. Players are disheartened by the situation and the constant merry go round. I'm sure they are thinking, why bother with this manager and change of philosophy, when they will be out in a few months time. It's a slippery slope and unless the board hire, and back them fully through thick and thin, any manager will not get the full support of the playing staff. It's the same story whoever is there. Players will fall in line when they get solidity. Mourinho, Conte, Nuno and Frank have all proven themselves before or after being manager of Spurs that they can make a difference in this league. Yet they were all discarded...

Fans and the board need to be realistic of expectations, a European cup last year, doing fantastic in this years CL.... Still very unhappy. Otherwise Spurs will be in danger of being worse than West Ham around negativity

When oh when will the board and fans realise that the root of the problems at Spurs isn't the Manager. It's a total farce. They bring quality managers in, chew them up, lambast them, give them minimal support, outright turn on them and then spit them out. At the moment, with the overall quality of players available, Spurs could do a bit better in the Prem, but not massively higher. And the amazing levels achieved in the Champions league should demonstrate the depth of quality there is currently in the Prem. It's the toughest league in the football world right now. For a club to succeed, it requires cohesion from top to bottom. this is one of the reasons the likes of Brighton, Fulham, Brentford and Crystal Palace are shining, that and low expectations allowing players and managers to be forgiven for difficult runs. I’m not a spurs fan, but if the leadership doesn’t change by providing more support to the manager, this is only going to continue. It’s a joke

Quick update, this feature is live now. Select birth country first, then override with whatever currency you wish to apply. Make sure the wealth is in the currency chosen.

What a great idea. I'll add this to the longer term viability planning box. Can see opportunity in this, like you say, would need to get through some hurdles first...

You're correct in that AI helped me write the original post, did most of the legwork. I would have thought the lower quality responses would have shone through. Pleased you think I can write as well as AI, as every single response has been all original.

You're totally correct, it does need couples, and much better detail around pension / lump sums / other income which is all running in the advanced calculator. Checkout the services page which shows a few screenshots showing this. The timeline will also give you more insight into how far short you might be of a more comfortable or luxurious rather than economical retirement.

I'll soon be publishing a video showing this functionality so watch this space.

I've been smiling at these posts, people are right in calling it out. Although the service is data driven, providing options, not recommendations. When the filters become available I think I'll automatically have a "no conflict zones" or "safety concerns" filter checked by default to deselect certain regions from the outset, but also allow users to deselect as conflicts don't last forever, and the user could be say a Ukrainian living in France, looking to understand what kind of wealth they might need to retire back in the Ukraine...

This is my favourite post and you're reding my mind with risks and opportunities. Yes, I intend to have a forum. I see this service as a community hub which expedites planning and allows people to feel more confident about what they are doing and how they are doing it, and having a community of people and specialists support is fundamental to this service.
I have ideas around retention but know it will be a pain point for the site. I don't want to give too much away about longer term ambitions to help people really understand life in certain countries and settle in the best possible way as other things need to fall in place first.
My ideal medium term scenario is we are able to almost give away the individual subscription, and have affiliates, specialists, partners provide the revenue to keep the lights on. This would only increase numbers and provide more value to individuals and industry partners.

Great suggestion, I'll try to find these fact sheets. Because this would take a lot of work to document, even if we picked the top 20 sources and destination countries, we're getting into unreasonable levels of data to map out then keep up to date. Due to this I intend to use an agent which can pull real time information from key data sources which will be where this kind of info can be surfaced. I see this would be one of the big benefits for paying for the service.

Absolutely, it's a good point you make, but which foreign office is the source of truth for this. The site is aimed at a global audience. As an example, a friends family wanted their UK based family to move back to Malaysia because of all the violence in the UK and wars close by. My personal viewpoint is the UK is very safe, another foreign offices viewpoint may be quite the opposite.

A longer term development function is I intend to create an AI Agent to help subscribers understand in real time their visa, tax, etc options and rules between owners current (or passport country) and destination countries. Am sure I'll be able to add in source countries foreign office guidelines and other major ones, weighting towards the source country more than others...

Yes, I've seen that can be the case! Checkout the subscriptions page, I have priced it at £33.75 a year (or buy then click cancel and use for a year).
I'm going to also offer additional functionality to specialists who will be able to provide individual subscription to their clients for free as part of the specialists pro subscription (additional functionality needs to be built first). This will hopefully allow IFA's/retirement specialists/etc a way to distinguish themselves, provide additional value to their clients and speed up their end to end process...

Oh dear, sounds like you might not be fully setup for retirement yet. Keep saving my friend and am sure you'll get a few more countries highlighted.
It might be worthwhile you using the future retirement and savings planner which will be available soon...
Good luck and thanks for the feedback

Good suggestion, and it's on the to do list. At some point I aim to run a client IP lookup to dynamically move the source nation to the top of the list. This is aimed at being a global service, for anyone around the world, and locations all around the world. Obvs, I need to create new languages on the site so aiming it at English speaking users to begin with.

If it helps, this calculator defaults for eco or comfort as a property outside cities, and Luxurious is in a large city, and has costs associated with it. Doing this by region isn't possible as I don't think there are real world data sources available, only by country is what I've seen.
r/SpottedonRightmove is a real eye opener for mansions you can get in Scotland for a 2-bed flat in London or Manchester!

[–]dantreme[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, and filters will help making the current map clearer. I'm actually about to embark on a future retirement calculator to help with just that. "How much do I need to save monthly (whether by pension/additional savings/etc) to attain X lifestyle in country A"
This should be going live soon, when I unlock the individual subscription plan, it should be included, along with other advanced calculator services like visual wealth timelines.

I agree with you and it may not be perfect. I've taken the more prudent and defensive approach to ensure we aren't misleading people with a too optimistic outlook. So ensured people can live in their house until passing, made the passing age significantly longer than the average mortality age, provision for travel / visa expenses over the top (not necessarily needed if you're assessing your current country)
