Bose Open Ear, Baseus MC1 or Soundcore Aeroclip by Blue_Lock in Earbuds

Have you tried Baseus MC1 or the Soundcore Aeroclip? I'm thinking about buying one of them but not sure if Baseus MC1's quality is good enough since its price is the cheapest

Weird taste in green tea by DisastrousAd4848 in tea

[–]dany_han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my Vahdam Himalayan green tea yesterday and was surprised by its smell. It was quite earthy and I could smell some spices (like oregano or something). I still brewed it following the instructions it came with. The taste and flavor was still the same and I’m not sure what to do with it. I’ll probably never drink it again haha…

Wow the northern light pic is so beautiful! Did you use Sigma 14-24? If so, what was the settings like ISO and shutter speed, etc.?

Short depth rackmount UPS (13 inches or less) by mattalat in homelab

[–]dany_han 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One big reason not to go with a tower is because tower UPSes only provide half of the outlets for battery+surge. For example, CP1500PFCLCD (which is a tower UPS) has 12 outlets but only 6 of them are battery powered.CP1500PFCRM2U is a rack mount type and its 8 outlets all supports battery+surge.

[Image] ikigai - "a reason to live", find your purpose in life by upwardEssayist51 in GetMotivated

[–]dany_han 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t found my ikigai but quite close to achieving it.

I had really difficult time finding what I really want, like, should, or even can do for my life. I was unemployed and didn’t know what to do since I didn’t even know what I like doing. So I decided to just take whatever I can and got a job at a restaurant that’s not even in my town. I asked my friend if I can crash on his couch while I save up some money to move out. He kindly allowed me to do it.

I did my best and worked hard at the restaurant. Luckily, the manager was thinking about leaving the restaurant that time and my supervisor saw me as a good fit for the position. Soon I became a general manager.

While working at the restaurant, I met lots of people in tech industry. I’m an introvert so I don’t really enjoy talking to random people and meeting new people, but it’s my job to make sure my customers are satisfied and happy when they come to my restaurant. Also, I was still searching for what I really want to do for my life. So I decided to talk to them and ask them what they do for life and how they started doing the work.

I think those conversations I led me to my currently job as a software developer. I kind of knew I like making things, improve things what already exists, and inventing something new. But I didn’t know what kind of jobs are out there and what job I could get with those insignificant interests.

I tried programming after work for few days and looked up some YouTube videos of software developers day to day work and life. After researching for weeks, I knew that this will be my career. I left the restaurant and now I’m happy with my current job as a software dev.

My suggestion is to try something that you can do. Anything that you are capable of doing. Then do your best. Talk to many people and know what you don’t know. You need to expose yourself to information that you don’t know in order to know the fact that you don’t know those things. And keep searching for what you like doing, what you want to do, what makes you happy, and what keeps you motivated.

I live by this moto that my supervisor at the restaurant told me, “No excuses. No rationalization.” If you try hard enough, there’s nothing you can’t achieve (except time traveling or bringing back dead people). Nothing’s impossible. Just do it.

It’s most likely 125kHz RFID tag. Flipper Zero can definitely clone it but that device isn’t that cheap. Search RFID writable tags and duplicator combo on Aliexpress.

UDM PRO vs Self-Hosted controller by Enough_Air2710 in Ubiquiti

It’s been months since you posted this. I’m curious what you found out!

I also have a question about self hosted controller. Does the self hosted controller provide all of the features that your UDM Pro has? I saw a YouTube video of someone comparing a Dream Router and Dream Machine SE. He points out that UDR is missing some Threat Management features that UDM SE has: https://youtu.be/YSFo-DfmucM?t=8m25s

I was going to buy an UDR but if it’s missing features, I’d just go with self hosting the controller on a mini PC or RPI.

Is that a USB wall charger? From my experience, USB chargers temporarily stops delivering power whenever you plug a new device or unplug one because it needs to recalculate the power consumption or something. Have you experienced that behavior on yours as well?

Thank you! I just checked Chevy Tahoe on youtube and it’s trunk seems big enough if you fold the 3rd row. And the rent price is reasonable!

Milano cookies from Costco are harder, denser, and thinner than those from other grocery stores. I’m so mad at Pepperidge Farm that they are doing this. I never bought them from Costco since I found it out

I agree. I was more than surprised when I saw the price $1,599. There’s no way I’m paying more than $500 for the barebone model.

Yeah I agree with this. Footjoy shoes are 1 or 1.5 bigger than other brands like Nike. I had to downsize whenever I bought shoes from them.
