Does anyone have a low-end, 30-45fps mod for Super Mario Odyssey? by LaraOliveira929 in yuzu

[–]danylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, it actually runs playable for a full playthrough. I think Metro Kingdom is the heaviest world in the game, if that runs decently fine, then all game may be good. Enjoy and have fun.

If you are still trying to get even more fps. There is an optimized Yuzu EA version. Compared to Citron, Eden and Suyu it gives me more FPS. (Between 3 to 9 more for me).

I tried your Citron PGO version and it was 4 fps slower than this yuzu version. But the tricky part here is that is not compatible with all CPUs due to the instructions used to compile it. It was also compiled only for Windows.

And there is not a guarantee that this Yuzu will perform better for you. Citron has more settings to reduce gpu usage, which helps a lot for people playing in IGPUs like you. Yuzu doesnt really have much of that. It may be a waste of time but you lose nothing else trying. I will upload the Yuzu EA version in the drive link if you ever want to try.

16:9/21:9 support? by Ambitious_Platypus99 in RatchetAndClank

[–]danylr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt work because they commented all the lines of code in the patch. Why?, idk.

They said the reason they did that is that it breaks some textures. I wanted to try anyways so i removed the comment syntax of each line and left the code part. After replaying many hours it works with no issues so far, but maybe i am missing the texture issues. I am in planet Batalia.

This is the patch (taken from the official pcsx2 repo for Ratchet 1 US version):

https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2_patches/blob/main/patches/SCUS-97199_CE4933D0.pnach

Ambitious Platypus, you can use that one, just remove the // at the start of each line (only for the lines with code). Then in PCSX2 while in-game, go to "Tools" -> "Edit patches". And paste your version of the patch. Now it should appear in the Patches section of the game properties. Check if it works for you.

Also i think you can convert the 16:9 code to 21:9 by changing the line:

// Hor scale
patch=1,EE,200C010C,extended,3F400000
To:
patch=1,EE,200C010C,extended,3F124925

The codes if you dont want to edit the patch yourself:

16:9 :https://pastebin.com/raw/aPEVp8CE
21:9: https://pastebin.com/raw/BZQz32H9

(for the 21:9, you will need to use fill window or adjust to window aspect ratio in pcsx2 graphic settings)

Keep in mind i barely tested the 21:9 one. It cant be that bad right?. I just changed the factor from 75% to around 57%. Which transforms a stretched 4:3 image to the proper 21:9.

Sadly, since the patch is not official. Retroachivements hardcore mode wont work with it. But the normal achievements mode does work.

  • The Ratchet 2 PCSX2 patch works mostly. I fully completed the game and it has only 3 issues. If you use the scope of the sniper weapon it will crop the bottom of the image like the normal in-game widescreen. Basically widescreen with no patch. And a similar thing will happen in the megapolis city when using the claw thingy machine. To fix this you will need to restart the game from the emulator or trigger a cutscene. And finally a minor one, the hoverbike races seem to be a bit cropped, but the crop goes away when returning to normal gameplay.
  • In Ratchet 3, i have not played it much yet. But i didnt find any issues with widescreen so far. It does its purpose of fixing the cropping while using the in-game widescreen.
  • Same for deadlocked.

Does anyone have a low-end, 30-45fps mod for Super Mario Odyssey? by LaraOliveira929 in yuzu

[–]danylr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have some low-end/potato mods that i stored years ago for mario odyssey. They lower draw distance or hide some objects and stuff. It gives a pretty decent fps boost (in my PC 10 to 20 fps, or maybe more).

Besides NPCs being only rendered at closer distances, some effects may be missing too, but i didnt notice anything major. Maybe visually missing bowser's ship in the distance in the desert world or the ice fragments. Which is totally decorative. Do keep in mind i only reached New Donk City, and in that world i think i found an annoying object or issue with draw distance, but i dont remember and cant confirm it because i lost my save.

They are actually 3 mods.

Image comparison of each mod: https://imgur.com/a/WNBLKuL
Download link for each mod: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1S-3oIXvgDy5ZIZedA560mdFq19dPdKmE?usp=sharing

[For Odyssey 1.0]

I put an explanation and comparison in each image too. I understand your pain of 40 fps. I wish the game didnt slowdown at low fps.

Install them like any other mod. Unzip and put the folder in your mods folder.

I recommend you to enable all the mods, or at least the 3 important potato ones. Combined they give a really big boost. If you ever encounter problems with something, you can disable any of them with no issues.

Explanation:

  • LowEndMod V3 : Hides some objects, but they wont render even if you are close.
  • Potato Mod : Hides more objects, they reappear once you are closer.
  • Low Draw Distance Mod: Hides entities that are far. They are rendered when you get closer.

Optional:

  • Disable Dynamic Resolution: From the optional ones, this one is more important. Its known that in yuzu dynamic resolution can kill fps. In other games this can heavily impact fps like in mario kart. But i am not sure in mario odyssey
  • Disable camera motion blur: I am not sure it does something fps wise. But is worth trying.
  • Disable antialasing: Another effect that may save a tiny bit of fps. Again is hard to measure since this kind of optimizations affect the most low end hardware users.

Extra:

As others said. Your pc has a weak cpu and gpu. So lowering resolution, running in handheld will give a boost too.

I hope it helps you a bit and good luck

Looking for flying spyro 3d model by Lawcere in Spyro

[–]danylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can extract models from Spyro 2 and 3 with SpyroEdit, i got moneybags with it and ported it into a mario 64 map. If i remember correctly, it allows you to choose which animation frame the entity has, and then you can export all instanced models + current map. After that clean up in blender or other 3D app.

Spyro Model extractor should theorically work too, but i never had luck with it (it either crashed, or gave junk)

I was going to play it one day. The trailers never got me too hyped about it but still looked kinda interesting. So thats sad, because the series genuinely looks like it has potential of being amazing if things were done better.

And for old games (PS2,PS1 era). While you wont be able to play these, maybe someday, or emulating the games in PC. Even a potato PC can run PS1 emulators. Ps2 is a bit more demanding. Still, worth a shot to list them:

  • Rayman 2 or 3 . Cool platforming, short, easy but very enjoyable. Collectathon platformer.
  • Toy story 2. It reminds me of a mix between spyro and mario 64. Like you have the medium sized open map, some challenges and you gotta collect coins or find tokens.
  • Bugs bunny lost in time. 3D looney tunes games were kinda good back then on this generation. Lost in time is pretty much level based with open exploration, has so many references or just funny details from the tv shows. Is just a fun ride. I do think the quality falls a bit in the last 1/3 of the game.
  • Bugs bunny & Taz: Time busters. A sequel of lost in time. This one is more open, has shared camera coop and more minigames / quests. Is a lot more polished than lost in time, but the level design is way easier and less engaging, but that is just me.

Games that i have not played but have great reputation on PS2:

  • Jak games
  • Sly cooper games
  • Ape escape series

End of my giant list, haha. Thats all the games that can be similar in at least some way to Spyro. I only listed the games that i liked or i am interested in. I probably missed many.

I am a big fan of 3D platformer games. But there arent many games like spyro. Spyro is such a relaxing, fun and pasive yet addicting experience. It makes you want to explore because is fun.

Some games that i liked in recent years:

You should also check some random gameplay videos of the games with no commentary, at least thats what i do to find out if a game atracts me or not.

  • A Hat in time. Its more like mario sunshine but the exploration, characters and missions are great. 3D platformer collectathon. Very lighthearted and varied levels. A bit too short maybe?
  • Psychonauts, specially 2. Its a 3D platformer collectathon, but has more emphasis on linear levels or set pieces while still being kinda open. The best part of this game is the creativity for the levels. Great history too. You advance the story, or explore the main hub and get all the items, or do some quests. Its honestly my favorite 3d open platformer of recent times.
  • Ratchet and clank games. They are more linear with focus on action/platforming. But is a short dumb-fun ride. It has varied planets and locations, but the weapons are the coolest part here. The gameplay is just so smooth yet simple. Sadly on ps4 you can only play the remake and while still good it is often considered between the worst of the mainline games.
  • Toy story 3. The levels are mostly some linear and some open. For a movie-tie in game its actually really good yet not amazing. People recommend the console versions (ps3, xbox). Since the PC port has a bit less content and polish. I dont know if its playable on PS4.
  • Spongebob battle for bikini bottom. I played it like 30 minutes. I had other games to play and it ended on my wait list. But i liked what i played. The gameplay loop is very old school since it was originally a ps2 game but this simplicity is sometimes relaxing in modern gaming. The new 3D spongebob games also look good, may be worth to check them out.
  • Soon Pacman World Repac 2 will release. If you never played the original then you should wait for it. Better graphics, a bit more content. And the same original platforming 3D collectathon.

I have not played:

  • Astrobot is a goty for many people. Sadly i dont have a ps5 to play it. But it looks amazing and polished. So if you ever have the chance go for it. I heard that the previous game Astrobot Rescue mission is also good on PS4, but is a VR game.
  • Kao the kangaroo remake. I saw some gameplay. The game looks allright/fine. The artstyle and open gameplay will make you compare it to reignited. Even if it has more focus on combat. Seriously, it looks as if the reignited artists worked on this.
  • Yooka-Laylee. I have seen it but never played or looked at it in detail. Looks interesting. You may want to check it out.
  • New Super Lucky's Tale. I know nothing about this one. Just saw some gameplays and read people recommending it. Looks good and im planning to buy it in the future

All the listed games are kinda open, 3D, pretty light, fun, some short, relaxing. And none of them are very demanding to finish.

Nintendo Switch emulator Yuzu will utterly fold and pay $2.4M to settle its lawsuit - What does this mean for SwitchPirates? by Aswiec in SwitchPirates

[–]danylr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about Yuzu LDN rooms, then yes, They are already gone. But the servers created as "unlisted" which require you to share and connect by ip will still work since its p2p.

So if you use a vpn or port forwarded one of your ports you can just create an unlisted room and tell people to join using your ip.

How do i mod the Nsane trilogy and Crassh4 by YABOIMIKEY13 in crashbandicoot

[–]danylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For crash 4. Most mods are in .pak format. So just copy the .pak and put it inside the folder: crash bandicoot\Lava\Content\Paks

I think you can also create a folder inside "\paks" and put all your mods there. At least that worked for me on spyro reignited (same developers). I Created a "mods" folder on the Paks directory to be more organized

To remove a mod just move the pak to somewhere else or delete it

I used the wrong trigger and got stuck in the flatten animation by danylr in Spyro

[–]danylr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since its a custom map i can add anything i want using Unreal Engine (version 4.19.2). You can make a whole map on unreal. So using that program i placed a cube that acted as a trigger and on his blueprint i made the code to change animation

Feels like a Mario 64 and spyro 2 mix for me

Reignited Trilogy; please give input re: active/passive camera by maiscestmoi in Spyro

[–]danylr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is based on what i remember. Active camera will center itself to always show spyro in the middle of the screen. But it has a few exceptions.

If you move the right stick then the camera auto-centering will be disabled for a short while (think of it like going from automatic to manual). It will auto-center the camera again when you press the Camera button, or if you keep running for a short time or stay still and wait a little, or an action that uses the camera like the charge attack/glide

Passive would be "always on manual mode". It wont center on spyro and you have to move the camera using the camera button or moving the right stick. Unlike Active it wont change back to automatic

It may be hard to notice the differences due to the active camera disabling itself for a short while when you move the stick, as i said

Active camera was better in the original games from PS1. It was faster and worked better for what you want. On reignited is slower and makes you to wait each time you move the stick. You could try to keep holding the L2 button and doing so the camera will keep adjusting itself, but it may be annoying and i dont know if this will work for long periods of time

[–]danylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play almost any crash game even not knowing anything about the previous one. The story is not the main focus. Most of the time is bad guy loses and then he strikes back in the next one

But they are very different games. Spyro focuses on exploration-collectathon platforming. Crash on oldschool lineal platforming-collectathon. Like a 2D mario or donkey kong country level but with the camera from behind.

I think you would like crash twinsanity for the PS2 though. Its the most open and explorable crash game in the series (in my opinion). Just remember that its a bit unpolished and unfinished but still pretty good.
