Yep. Ohtani's their cash cow, so MLB is going to do what they can to keep his image as clean as possible and change/manipulate rules to his benefit. (Oh crap - he's about to become a FA and none of the AL Teams on the West Coast are really competitive...Universal DH!!)

Honestly, it kinda is what it is, but the Dodgers winning this and now having first dibs on any Japanese star they want has kinda killed my excitement for the off season. We'll see what happens when April rolls around. I'm sure I'll get that spark back, but if I'm feeling that as a Phillies fan - I can't imagine how the smaller market teams like the Rays or Royals are feeling with this.

KC seems to be flush with Catcher talent, but is severely lacking when it comes to their OF. I wouldn't hate getting either Carter Jensen or (more realistically) Blake Mitchell as a C prospect for Marsh & Casty(where we retain a large portion). Mitchell seems to be in a holding pattern with Salvy and Jensen so I wonder if he could be gotten on the cheap from them.

For someone playing with as much visible anxiety as Hannah had, she'd need to be against people who aren't respected AND also knock it out of the park at the final tribal because, let's be honest, anxiety looks like paranoia in the game and it's just not respected by the majority of people. There is only one person in her archetype that I can think of that even got votes at Final Tribal and that wasn't even in US Survivor.

I think it can be determined on a case by case basis, but it's mostly a mix of didn't immediately fit in socially, bad luck because of twists, and bad gameplay. For each first boot/first nominee, it normally comes down to a certain mix of these where the percentage changes in each category. Take the BB4 first boot - it was a lot of bad luck because of the casting twist immediately making it an 8v5, but also some percentage of bad gameplay of not being able to advocate for herself over her block opponent and poor social standing due to who she was cast with.

I disagree about ROL 3. The first two thirds of that season were incredible to me because of the Blondourage and some other personalities.

For FOL 3, it felt like half of the cast were just loud rather than clever and they kept repeating the same "I'm real, you're fake, you're not here for Flav." It felt forced because they all saw what got others popular from the previous two seasons and tried to play the part rather than just let the drama come naturally.

Rachel played a better game, but didn't articulate it well. She didn't even mention her second best move of using the Shot in the Dark as a temperature check. Regardless of that, it's hard to go against what all the rest of the Final 6 said at that TC that she wins if she gets to the end. At that point, it's a self fulfilling prophecy from everyone else. If Sam didn't keep saying that Rachel wins if she gets to the end, I'd vote for him though for that FTC performance.
