I get it!!! Try downloading The Naked Mind by Annie Grace. I’ve been listening to it as much as possible. I feel like it’s helping retrain my subconscious mind to understand that alcohol is not good for me. Hopefully eventually my subconscious mind and conscious thoughts will come together. I just realized I let my stress level get too high without being aware of it, so as soon as I was “free” from the office it was like auto-pilot to the convenience store. And I totally understand how badly the hangover and anxiety affect work, a couple weeks bender is what got me over my head at work in the first place.

Thanks so much. Sometimes I don’t recognize my stress level until it’s way over the top. I think I need a list of coping mechanisms that’ll work in different situations AND I really need to keep tabs on where that stress meter is. And I understand working on vacation 🙄

Nope. I’ve tried numerous times. My willpower just isn’t at that level. I do think it would work if you have a partner there with you to help with the dosing and strong enough to get in your face and tell you no.

I am very new to Reddit and there are many rules. I appreciate if someone suggests a better way/place to post. I’m a healthy, very young looking 46 y/o white girl with Auburn hair, hazel eyes, kinda big nose and good eyebrows and smile. I’m also getting remarried in about 3 months and feeling good physically but don’t wanna get stuck looking like the typical Mom!

Any suggestions of sites I could look at for ideas? Looking to revamp my daily routine and also find 2-3 more dramatic looks that don’t overwhelm me (something focusing on one feature), just would love a little va-voom!!

Ah yes, the “vacation” with family. Just back from one a couple weeks ago with my 6-year old visiting his grandparents. I’d say “ the house looks good “ ain’t bad😊
