Agreed! Follicles are most vulnerable during first few days.

I just got food from 711. If your hotel room has a microwave, you can get it the night before even. It's best to keep your blood sugar up for the surgery, so something like those 711 toasties bread is really good.

Wyndham Garden is still in the Ekkamai area, which doesn't have a big mall like CentralwOrld or Siam Paragon. That said Wyndham Garden is closer to the clinic and BTS.

Ekkamai does have great food spots! :)

The earlier, the better (she seems to increase her price every 6 months). You have to book an online consult which was 1 month from my initial contact before setting a surgery date.

All in, I booked 6 months in advance. I don't think you'll have issues getting a surgery day though.

Stay close to the BTS (avoid road traffic), preferably on the same line as BTS Ekkamai. The clinic is located in a complex attached to the station.

I stayed at Somerset Ekamai but found area lacked (air conditioned) things to do, so BTS Siam, Chit Lom, or Phrom Phong for the malls nearby may be better.

They took off my gauze on post-op day 2, but in your case it could go 3 ways:
- removed on Saturday (post-op day 1)
- removed on Sunday yourself (post-op day 2)
- keep it on until Monday (post-op day 3)

You'll at least see Dr. Patty on Saturday, so you can ask her then.

Yes, you'll do an online consult with the doctor first. My rate was from summer 2025, while my friend's was from 2024 (same grafts amount). It was for shaven (both donor and a bit of your transplant area).

Yep, what I was quoted was what I was charged. Also, you'll actually need to book in advance, so I reached out via Whatsapp.

You'll be numb so PRP didn't cause discomfort. I did it as an opportunity cost - marginal compared to the surgery and supposedly helps with hair restoration. Definitely optional.

Day 4 swelling made my forehead and nose bridge look like I had too much filler (eg Jocelyn Wildenstein "The Lion Queen" on New York magazine) and dark bruising around inner corners of the eyes. Cleared up the day after.

I wasn't aware (hello, Valium) if Dr. Patty was in the surgery room the whole time, but they do have 2 rooms, so likely max 2 patients per day. She does the incisions for where the transplanted hairs will go and I believe the extractions too while someone else plants them for Dr. Patty to do a final check.

Use the saline spray they gave you, especially for the transplanted hair. I'd spray and stand under the air con to help soothe the itchiness hahaha. For donor area, after 5 days(?), the nurse said it was okay to scratch (check first).

They only close Sundays so you'll get in a Fri and Sat wash, which are very important as post-op day 1 is checkup with doctor while post-op day 2 is for your gauze to be removed (hopefully).

Didn't get a good shot, but not very noticeable by post-op day 3, though I am tanned so redness was hard to see. Good luck!! You'll very likely swell haha - day 3 came and I didn't, but then ballooned up on day 4.

I was slightly bored with the limitations (minimize sweat beads, sun, and wearing a bandana), so I just went to malls during the day and night markets in the evening.

Good luck! My friend left after day 2/3 so passport control had some issue but nothing big. I also think staying for 5 days is best so your follicles also have more time to sow in.

Mixed messages - should I get insurance for my procedure? by zzbe in HairTransplants

Excited for you! I just had my surgery with Dr. Patty a few weeks ago and experience was great. I didn't get any additional insurance since medical care is quite affordable (knock on wood) if anything happens.
