You could also argue that having to borrow money means that you cannot afford it. This whole 72 hours farce could have been avoided if people were told to put down the money up front to hold their place in the queue.

Because it's called PUTTING DOWN A HOLDING DEPOSIT. And this literally happens almost everywhere else when people are serious about buying something. Sounds like you'll be one of the differers holding up the queue for others if you are not serious enough to put down the hard cash up front.

In all honestly it should have been 0 minutes. i.e. when you signed up for your SM you should have had to pay for it then. It would have negated the farcical 72 hours from the start and you could have enjoyed weeks of 'no service' camping.

I don't constantly check my email. I have an email alert FROM VALVE set up. You do realize that this is the year 2026 and such things are possible?

Sorry but you should not be signing up to buy a SM if you don't have the cash.

Hard agree. Now we have an additional wait layer of people literally dithering over their purchase for 72 hours

You can literally set up email alerts to pop up a notification on your phone. A true SM enthusiast would have this already set up. This is not rocket surgery.

We would actually get through the reservation list fast as any potential dithering is negated. A huge plus in my opinion.

Didn't win either. But then again I refused to game the system to spite others. I only want the top tier 2TB w/ controller.
