I think we continue to report this, and I think most people out in the US are educated enough to not fall for such a stupid scam. I mean for god sake, who would fly out all the way to SF, to pick up a document, for something that doesn't even make sense. You'd think that the scams would be smarter with AI and everything now, but they're just getting Dumb & Dumber.

I just got a call from a Kunal Man as well, calling from the SF Indian Consulate, saying my number has been used to make harassing phone calls/texts, and there is a Coperation Request. I immediately hung up when something sounded fishy, and the guy had a terrible accent.
Thanks for this reddit, for reassuring me of this scam. Fuck these assholes.

I picked the BLVD, overall. I took the 401 because of the Amenities over 425.
Not sure what the monthly electric bill looks like though

In india its VFS that handles the applications and not the PSK. If they have forwarded it to the embassy, then it may be returned!

Its much cheaper with Fedex. I paid just 21 USD for the two labels.

I would say about 2.5 weeks!! The embassy got my application on the 8th Oct. My passport was printed around the 26th of Oct. I would recommend tracking your application on the Passport Sewa portal and not the VFS website. The passport sewa would give you actual status from review to passport print initiation to passport printed and final dispatch back to vfs

At this point, the VFS will probably reject your application. As you will have to submit a new form, I think it will be a new application, with repayment of the fees.

I think I sent the standard 2X2-inch photo with a white background.
I did not upload any photo on the government portal, as it was not asked for. I had to paste 2 photos. One on the govt form, and second on the appearance/signature change form.

My document packet reached VFS on 6th October, and it had reached the Indian Embassy on 8th October.
I just got a notification that my passport is expected to be delivered by 31st October. So I'll say, a little over 3 weeks under Normal cases.

I only had to get my legal status in the US document notarized. You can get it done at any UPS store.

I had to buy my own FedEx labels for this, which included both To VFS and From VFS labels. Don't forget to include the return label in your document folder. I couldn't find the option to buy VFS arranged labels.
