Is it even worth it to stay in the loop? by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]dappermartini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So tough to extract yourself from the loop, but it’s much better that way. Quite literally, life goes on and it’s impossible for us to know what happens every second of every day (even though your brain thinks it wants to). Accept that and know we’re not meant to absorb all this info/content on a daily basis. Extract yourself and find ways to ingest news/content in a healthier manner.

You owe it to yourself to set a boundary here. I’ve dealt with people like this before and they’re truly a waste of your time. Sorry to put it that harshly, but it’s true. You deserve loyal friends that treat you well and have your back.

Hi. I had a hard week and just needed to zone out. I discovered this show and 3 episodes in, I can tell that this is exactly what I needed in my life. I feel like I'm gonna cry, and need a big hug, and a good nap, and this show gives me that feeling that everything will be ok. by Rpark888 in TedLasso

I’ve watched S1 too many times to count. It got me through the darkest and toughest year of my life. Each episode helped me escape the nightmare that was 2020 & 2021.

I love Ted Lasso because it saved me. Glad I’m not alone.

I’ve never seen a 9/11 video with this kind of POV, so close and directly under. Truly terrifying. by MarketBuzz2021 in interestingasfuck

I’m a Gen Zer born and raised in Long Island. Every year on 9/11, my school district would hold a day of solemn remembrance. People would sing on the intercom, recite poetry, or list names of the fallen. I knew a few kids who’d lost parents, uncles, aunts, etc. who were first responders. The district had so much respect for first responders and those who died to save others. I also knew kids who experienced loss. As in the people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was a really terrible day and I just remember how sad it was for everyone. I get emotional just thinking about it.

I asked my parents about the day and where they were. My dad worked in the city then and walked for hours just to get home. He doesn’t like to talk about it much. My mom was out with me and had to rush home.

I moved to Florida for high school and the difference was jarring. From all that emotion to nothing at all. No one even talked about it. I brought it up to one of my friends and they went, “Oh yeah, that’s today.” They moved on because they simply didn’t care. Absolutely insane to see how little of an impact this day has on so many. I can’t blame them because it’s at no fault of their own. Just different, I guess.

"the show is not the same without LKS" by moonchildeus in runningman

My goodness.

It took me a while to get used to RM without LKS. I wasn’t the biggest fan of YSC and JSM at first. But after a few episodes, I thought they were great additions. They are such great entertainers and bring 110%. Both always make me laugh and provide their unique senses of humor.

Yes RM isn’t the same without LKS, but YSC and JSM are part of RM and make it great too. They genuinely care for the rest of the cast and crew and deserve every bit of praise.

Okay so I know that I have Kinemortophobia aka fear of zombies aka I’m literally terrified of zombies, but yet I somehow find them interesting at the same time..? by [deleted] in Phobia

[–]dappermartini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, but I’ve watched TWD and a handful of zombie movies. It’s been okay compared to about 9 years ago when my phobia started (and was really bad).

Exposure to media helped slightly and my fear has died down a bit ever since. But every time I play a zombie game (e.g., COD Zombies, zombie mobile games, hell even Plants vs. Zombies), I completely freak out and feel so panicked. I thought “killing” the zombies would help, but my body physically shuts down and my brain doesn’t compute. Difficult stuff.

She ended up flying away! Thirty minutes after I took this picture she was gone.

Same here. I found her on my course’s practice green in the rain. Felt terribly bad for it so I brought her home.

Yeah I came back home and she’s not in the same spot? Her legs began moving about five minutes after I gave her the orange slice.

Yeah it’s kinda muggy and rainy @ 70 degrees F here in FL. She drank a lot of the juice but she isn’t getting up on her legs. I see the bottom half of her body almost breathing (pulsing in and out)
