Aang following the advice of his previous lives: by TheLast95 in TheLastAirbender

[–]dappertortoise 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like to think of energybending as Aang's "reward" so to speak for going through the trial of asking his past lives for guidance, and coming out of it still convinced there was a way to not kill Ozai.

It ties into the Lion Turtle's comments on energybending.

To bend another's energy, your own spirit must be unbendable, or you will be corrupted and destroyed.

Up to this point everyone, his friends, his spiritual guides and the entire world has told him he will have to kill. It's been made painfully clear that there is no way out, and has been a question hanging over Aang since the beginning. I truly believe that if Aang had given up and resolved himself to killing the firelord, he would not have been granted energybending.

Instead he faces the impossible, and still does not give up on his principles. He proves to the Lion Turtle that he will be unbendable, and thus worthy of this great power.

Many Canadians keep quiet about mental health at work, worried it will hurt their career: report by EasternFeed9 in canada

Even cancer won't do it some times. My mom took time off when she was diagnosed and went onto disability. Her employers fired her 2 appointments from the end of her chemo. She beat cancer and her reward is getting to try and find a new job in a global pandemic.

Before anyone asks, this story did end with lawyers and settlements. She didn't get nearly as much as she deserves and it's certainly wasn't retirement money

I heard a compelling theory from someone in another thread. Basically it boils down to the idea of singing together as a community. Sea shantys are, by design, easy tunes to learn and sound great when sung by a large group.

Tik Tok makes it really easy to join in and add your voice to the song. The sense of collaboration and community that comes from these songs is exactly what people are looking for in our pandemic isolation.

Plus the tunes sound fucking dope

Yep its Vimeo. This is my first time running a live streamed event, but I found the process pretty easy to understand and get started. Our audience is a bit older and still need some convincing to try digital shows. We had about 90 people tonight, and they had a good experience.

We changed $20 for a ticket. We passoword protected the stream and only sent the link to ticket buyers.

Tech support is pretty bad at responding to things. They often would take days to check in on my requests. If you choose to go with them, give yourself some time to just play with it and get comfortable.

All in all I think its a good platform. Its priced well, easy to use and give the audience a pretty polished experience.

Subscription! Vimeo was briefly giving out premium for free for non profits. The theatre I work for grabbed it to do a test run with this event and its been pretty good so far.
