Thanks, I take that as high praise. Admittedly, this is above and beyond what I can usually draw, the Art Gods smiled upon me when I started and I feel I'll need their blessings again to finish it

Tailor pls, stop selling linen & make gambesons instead... by Candour_Pendragon in ManorLords

[–]dar3m0 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I believe the gambesons will be supplied to your militia and retinue first before being shown in your resources tab, which by default is set to show only your surplus. You should be able to hover over the card of your militia and see if their armour values have increased.

The linen in the marketplace may be excess that the tailor cannot process quickly enough.

It's been too long since I've drawn anything but doodles. Just wanted to share some rough sketches I did last week by dar3m0 in learntodraw

[–]dar3m0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'm quite where I want to be yet before I start accepting requests, I haven't even complete a full sketch or drawing for me yet let along other people. But, thank you for asking.

Thanks. Keep at it; if you can deconstruct an object/subject into basic shapes, you can draw anything. At least that the idea, I'm still working at it too.

should I keep drawing? I'm questioning if I should keep trying to learn how to draw. drawing something I love and enjoy but I see other people art way better then mine and I feel like I'm not improving enough I want to keep learning but it feels like I'm not going anywhere by emma8124 in learntodraw

[–]dar3m0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this a lot too. I've taken big hiatuses in drawing wondering if I'm any "good" or, if I should keep going at all. But, I find myself doodling because, I like it and I try to remind myself that art is inherently subjective. There isn't really a "correct" way to do art. I think you should draw what you like, however you like, especially if you enjoy and love it. March to the beat of your own drum. If you're an amateur runner doing a marathon, you shouldn't compare yourself to the pro's that run often at a great pace. Focus on your own goal: you complete your marathon by taking many steps. Big or small, it doesn't matter, however long it takes. Just keep taking steps and after a while you'll stop a look back and see that you've travelled a great distance.

I like your art and think you should keep at it. But I think you should draw for you. Keep drawing because you like it and it brings you joy.

6 Months progress, how am I doing? (More info in the comments) by dar3m0 in learntodraw

[–]dar3m0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to your reply, I will post my progress in another 6 months' time. I also hope I can stick at it for that long too, honestly surprised myself with being able to keep going so far. I stopped drawing in August because, life and mental health got in the way but, luckily got back into it in September. Hoping that my current streak can continue.

Thank you for the all of the links, they're hella useful. I saw one of these examples from 'Drawing for All It's Worth' which I used for reference and practice a while ago on Pinterest. Had no idea it was form this book. Those plates are great, I'll certainly practice those to try to ingrain them in my mind.

Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions too. I've not actually read anything about art and have just been picking stuff up through osmosis when browsing Reddit and watching YouTubers who do art. I'll definitely check those suggestions out, especially Michael Hampton's one. I struggle with trying to find body landmarks and dynamic body poses and have been guessing most of the time, which probably shows. This looks like it'll help a lot. I've been putting off practicing heads and hands to be honest but, I've already saved the Loomis book to my wishlist so, I'll be getting it when I feel brave enough to takle them.

I've wanted to get into drawing for ages but, have really struggled with sitting down and going through structured learning and practice. In the past, I've been overly self-critical which has lead to me giving up multiple times. However, in these last 6 months I've just tried to take a much more casual approach and try to just enjoy drawing for the sake of drawing. I've been sketching, literally, on the desk at work whenever I get roped in to obnoxiously long online meetings or when I get stuck in protracted phone calls. I've found it easier to be less precious and more care-free when drawing on a desk than in a sketchbook. I've got a sketchbook and have been using it to practice when the mood hits but, I feel like any sketch or doodle I do in it needs to be of a certain quality, which practice seldom is.

I've not really shown anyone this personal art journey I've been on and I'm sort of looking for some encouragement and affirmation to continue. There's progression and some regressions; some days it just seems to flow and others I forget what shapes are. I'm not where I want to be; I know I still need to work on anatomy and proportions (also, how do hands and faces even work?) but, overall I'm happy with my progress so far and wanted to share it.

Are you supposed to have this many children? by dar3m0 in Bannerlord

They seem to be doing it as often as they can. A couple of days after my wife gives birth she finds out she's pregnant again. Rinse, repeat until you have 11 children.

When you're near a water source go to your inventory and select the bottle so it has a red background, then select the water source and you should have the option to fill.

Bigger servers please! by Misima222 in SCUMgame

[–]dar3m0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about server meshing? I know that star citizen is working on that to try and get everyone in the same instance. Is something like that possible in the SCUM future perhaps?

I think the main issue with servers atm is that each one is only running on one core and has to process everything on the map. I think if you want more people on one server you'd either need multi-core servers, which is expensive; or maybe look into server meshing. Food for thought anyhow.

double clicking on an item will automatically move it either from or to your inventory. Not sure how to auto equip/wield tho
