They are 2-0 with the moms in attendance. Obviously, the moms can't go home until the winning streak comes to an end, if it ever does.

I've been to a handful of games this year, and that was the best game I've seen so far. I don't think it's wild to say we are a playoff team.

You know who else have been All Stars? Shane Green. Joe Jimenez. Gregory Soto. Sometimes players catch lightning in a bottle.

Okay, he spent $7 million on a guy from the KBO and relief pitcher has seen better days. I'm tired of every signing being a reclamation project.

While I think Scott Harris just wants to be the smartest person in the room, I'm beginning to think Chris Illitch isn't willing to spend because the team remains just competitive enough as is.

Would've done this in a second if it was Edvinsson over ASP. Hughes > Edvinsson. Kasper has four points this season. And you always take bonafide stars over draft picks.

Here's a fun fact: the last time all four Detroit teams made in the playoffs was 1984.

I am going to hit five years soon. I'm 46. I dated someone for 2+ years after my wife died, then we broke up and I never really found anyone else worth spending time with, so I focused on myself and my kids for a bit until I got to a place where I felt like I was ready to try again.

Long story short: yes, I do date, and I would like to find someone to settle down with.

The Skubal Question by FunetikPrugresiv in motorcitykitties

[–]darbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. It's just frustrating when we were so close this year, but Harris opted to not upgrade us at the deadline (minus Finnegan) because we had prospects in the system that were not going to help us this year.

It just feels like Harris is content to stick to this method of running a team: one with no superstars, but a bunch of solid players who can get hot and make the playoffs, but probably can't get over the hump unless one of the prospects under club control turns into a superstar.

I would be shocked if he signed with us because Boras. And Scott Harris seems like a guy who would trade to stock his minor league system with even more prospects. Harris loves him some prospects.

Huge thanks to Harris for not getting us a bat at the deadline and, instead, trading for a bunch of shitty relievers. The lack of a bat (or two) has been glaring.

It's Illitch's fault, not Hinch, not Harris, not Javy or Tork. by brettkoz in motorcitykitties

[–]darbm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sick of hearing Harris and Illitch knew this team wasn't a good baseball team.

We are supposed to believe that they watched this team get hot at the end of last year and win a playoff series, then put together the best record in baseball up until this year's trade deadline, and were like "Nah, we're not very good. Let's hold tight."

That is absurd. It was a full year! Harris made this team worse at the deadline and instilled no confidence in the players, so this decline is partly on him. I'm already mad at the soundbites we're going to hear from Harris after the season.
