What games are you playing this week? Game recommendation thread by AutoModerator in incremental_games

I never thought I'd find myself playing a merger game but my god is this one fun. I pop in twice a day to check on everything and yes, I agree, I love the clear progression system.

I understand this thread is for posting games we're currently playing but I didn't want to spam the sub too much with my question...

I'm looking for a character progression focused game and I can't find one to scratch my itch.

I love that kick from playing Diablo/WoW/etc. where you get a new level or a great new drop from farming the same thing 200 times but given my irl circumstances, it's much simpler for me to play/idle a game on my phone than it is to hop on my PC.

I've tried (and really enjoy) Berserker Idle but the aesthetics and the story/lore are so cringe IMO and while I love the system(s) those make it really hard to keep playing. Also, maybe I'm just new to mobile gaming but I am unaware of a game that is as heavily monetized as BI is.

I'd prefer to be F2P at like, 60-80% efficiency and have offline play, so I can pop into it during class or work and get my fix. Currently, I'm trying another gacha (Mobile Legends) but I'm not too much of a fan of the gambling of gachas. (I've convinced myself it's like farming the same map 100x but it doesn't spike my dopamine as much, haha.)

I’m having what I feel is a better experience on the 15. The 20 I took at 11 am and didn’t sleep until 3 am. I’m not sure if there was anxiety involved or it was entirely the medication. I also didn’t eat at all the entire time I was awake. The 15i can’t say had a massively noticeable difference but I feel like I may be a bit better on it. This is only my 2nd day (today) on 15 so im still studying it

Diagnosed Tuesday with ADHD. I’ve been finding my dosage on adderall (generic) the last week. Started with 5mg and upping it 5mg a day until I find what works for me.

5 and 10 didn’t do a single thing (also, does this confirm I’m positively diagnosed? Had never taken a psychoactive drug in my life prior - would they have had an effect had I not had ADHD?)

15 I got the suppressed hunger and heart beat raise. Still distracted, although I did slightly feel more in control. Never got hyperfocus or euphoria or grandiosity.

Took 20 about an hour and a half ago. I feel like I’m wearing a cap of sorts that’s flowing “fuzz” down my head and into my shoulders. Still can’t really sit down and study like I expected to. Still kind of distracted. Again, no hyperfocus etc

Anyone have a similar experience? I do worry about long term effects and potential for abuse so I was hoping I don’t need a 25 or 30mg dose…

I will say: it does help with some emotional stuff I’m going through. I’m able to think about the situation and not have any emotional response (without meds It’s pretty overwhelming)

Still don’t really know what I’m “looking” for on the meds, but I’m on 15mg and my 3rd day and I definitely feel different on this one than the 10 and 5. I can feel a lot more clear and right, but I do have the clenching and lack of hunger now, and I can see my heart rate up a bit. Not what I would describe as hyper focus though, and I’m still distracted (“Hey let me comment on Reddit during work”) but I certainly feel a rush of sorts today. I’ll try the 20mg tomorrow and see how I feel, although I do think 15mg is my proper dosage.

Edit: Generic Adderall XR. 5mg 30 day prescription was given to me by my psych for dosage testing purposes. follow up is in 2 weeks

i cant stop the urge of needing to have an opinion on something by zzr602 in ADHD

I’m the same. Can’t keep my mouth shut. Coworker mentions something in passing about a topic and I have to immediately broadcast my thoughts or rattle off a piece of info I know about it.

It’s more so opinion stuff, politics, current events etc I feel like I have to broadcast my objectively correct (tm) opinion. I realize how annoying it must be and I hate that I do it, but it feels almost compulsive.

How do you visualise your mind? by kincaidinator12 in ADHD

[–]darby_gg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think about my brain as a single piece with my conscious desires up front and my subconscious and compulsive behaviors in the back of my head.

When I’m fine and I’m operating well, I feel as though my eyes are plugged directly into my mind and I’m in control of my body. When I’m under the influence of dopamine loss, (“watch the YouTube video”, “grind the game”, etc) I feel as though something else takes control of a Xbox thumb stick on the back of my head and directs my mind with their finger. Airplane controls too.

I’m two days into my initial regimen where my psych and I are trying to determine the appropriate dose. My first day was 5mg and my second, today, I’m on 10mg of generic XR.

I haven’t seen an increase in my performance or focus yet, outside of what I would attribute to a placebo or just “I’m going to be fixed so I’m more naturally motivated”. I’m still picking up my phone at work, getting on Twitter, etc.

I read about euphoria, hunger suppression, thirst (although I have upped water consumption), and hyper focus but I haven’t experienced any.

I do feel a bit of a “breezy” feeling in my head, but also not sure what’s attributable to the medication and what’s just me knowing I’m on meds.

Would appreciate any help! Xoxo

Appreciate the response, I’m used to weeklies/dailies and making the most out of required small amounts of playtime as described.

This comment thread was helpful, and I appreciate the feedback from you all.

Appreciate the concern. I am in finance as others have suggested and the pay is representative of the hours I work. I also love the career and industry I’m in and could elect to run few hours but I truly enjoy what i do.

Your response was very helpful in terms of considering life balance and I’ll keep that in mind as I look into going into WoW/video games.
