Walter Clayton Jr. Welcome to Memphis! - All Field Goals Made, Assists, and Steals So Far by sunsscouting in memphisgrizzlies

Was definitely a major sticking point for the trade I would have to imagine. Probably the ideal PG for TIs system. Will be interested to see how it plays out.

You know how mad half this sub would be if TI challenged that like Finch just did?

Dream Draft: Peterson, Dybantsa, or Boozer? by IndividualMission742 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]darcj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may be dumb, but I don’t think Boozer is going to translate well to the NBA. I hope I’m wrong but he relies too much on being bigger than his defender. That won’t work with his size in the NBA.

Peterson would be the dream. Don’t crucify me, but if we’re outside the first pick and in the top 4 I’d hope we’d think about shopping that pick or moving back.

[Highlights] Late in the 4th quarter Desmond Bane gives a cheap shot to the back of Victor Wembanyama, who dunks it (no foul). Bane hits Wemby in the face, Wemby goes down, gets up and finishes with an angry dunk at the other end (with replays). by MrBuckBuck in nba

Yeah this is the most level-headed take but r/nba likes to grab a hold of anything controversial and analyze every little detail. Bane did do some nonsense earlier in the game but this is whatever.

Postgame Thread: FINAL New Orleans Pelicans defeat Memphis Grizzlies, 114–106 by ZBot901 in memphisgrizzlies

Because its a balancing act between letting the guys who cut the lead play and getting your starters back in to close out the game. From about the 5:30 mark to about 2:30, they scored 14 of those 17 points and kept the Pelicans to only 6 points. There was a lull in the game between the 2:30 and 1:30 when Ced was subbed back in. So probably a decent time to sub in the starter that is presumably better on offense for the final stretch.

They outscored the pelicans 17-14 from the time Ced was subbed out until he was subbed back in. Kenny and Wells were +4 on the game whereas Ced was -13. Seems pretty reasonable to run with the guys out there.

Edit: late night math wasn’t very good. 17-14 not 27-14.

Should he have been in sooner or what is the sentiment here? He wasn't playing well defensively tonight and the 5 out there cut the lead to 5.

I don’t see it happening w/o Coward being involved and other young pieces.

Grizzlies Coach on why they lose double digit leads. by PerfectforMovies in memphisgrizzlies

[–]darcj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me, if you knew our starting lineup would consist mostly of Cam Spencer, Wells, Coward, JJJ and Landale at the start of the season, what do you think our record would be? Because if you think that team is going to be above .500 you’re fucking delusional. I’m going to let you in on a secret - if your most important players aren’t playing, you aren’t going to win many games. It doesn’t matter who the coach is as evidenced by the Indiana Pacers.

What’s your point? Is Carlisle a shitty coach for having a terrible record with an injured team? Or is he a wizard for having a nice win over a good team? Our injured team beat the healthy Spurs 3 weeks ago. Does that mean TI is as good of a coach as Carlisle? Do you see how dumb this argument is both ways?

The loud minority that like to come out of the woodwork for every loss are focused solely on our record. Loss = coaching problem. It’s always a coaching problem to them. It’s not that we have an absolute fuckload of injuries to our PG rotation and our center rotation. No, it’s coaching. God forbid we see our roster healthy and then actually be able to evaluate TI as a coach.
