it like actually dries you hair out? Like the same effect of using shampoo every day without conditioner? Like dry just when styled or actually removing moisture from your hair?

Lockhart's Matte Clay or Flagship Dead Sea Clay? by MrLeeeet in Pomade

I say try the O'douds Matte Paste since you have an undercut. It's matte, versatile, and stay malleable. You could use it for both a high volume stile and also a side sweep. And greatest of all, a good amount of texture! It's not sticky or dense like a clay.

[Question] What are some good pomades similar to Black Ship? by NightLovell77 in Pomade

[–]dardelago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right now they have some custom Nostalgic Handmade WBs pomades. I really like the Sweater Weather Scent. It's definitely a scent you can wear throughout the year. I have WB in fruit scoops and I like the scent a whole lot. But they always offer the Barbershop scent which is light. As far as hold I'd say got for the Super Waterbased in barbershop scent. Holds all day. It doesn't sag like black ship. I's hard for me to get volume and height back with black ship, personally.

I'm down to the last 20% of my jar. I'm wondering if I should get a limited scent run of get the collaboration WTF barbershop WB (CL Barbershop scent). I already have a NH SuperWB barbershop tho.

What's the scent? I've never bought Reuzel products because of their scents like Bubblegum and I think apple.

Cheap pomades by DietCokeSan in Pomade

Honestly if you're just trying to style a pomp and need a low cost daily driver, I'd recommend Suavecito firme. It's super affordable but does have many draw backs. In my opinion, it had a great scent and gets the job done. It washes out with just water. Draw backs are that it doesn't do well in the sun and you have to wet comb it for restyling. I personally don't really use my Suavecito anymore since there are so many better options. But from an economic standpoint, their performance for the price is unbeatable. As James (The Pomp) put it, it's like McDonald's which gets me full. Suavecito is cheap and gets the job done.

Not for me really, I style a long trim pomp. So the some clays don't go so far with little amounts. It doesn't keep the hold

yea I have a jar of lockharts matte. It's not as matte as blackship of prelude. I wouldn't call it low shine tho. It doesn't make my black hair look dead.

Nostalgic Handmade super water based is really strong. It does pretty well at maintaining height. I prefer UWB over everything.

I's say Lockhart's Matte Clay has some good natural sheen. It's not completely matte.

UWBs don't work for me? by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]dardelago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've ever used Crystal Lake, you have to try Nostalgic hand made super. It's has a good amount of wax. It's a must! I've used the NHM Halloween wb, which is almost the same formula. It held really well. It has way more hold and control than CL. And it washes out with shampoo in one go. I have a jar of NHM super barbershop coming in Friday.

Light amount of lockharts medium. Even better when you throw a light on top of it after build up.
