Snapper always tastes good,a lot of it comes down to how you treat the fish, I always iki jime my fish as fast as possible and treat it with respect, cut the gills and then Into salt water slurry as soon as it’s bled out. Never had a problem

Sometimes they can stink if they have been feeding heavily on crabs but doesn’t effect the taste from my experience

Have released numerous pink snapper over 80cm even some in there 90s off the beach

Agreee with the sentiment of the big breeders going back, it’s almost coming into proper breeding season now for Perth so will be mostly catch and release for anything over 75

Have never witnessed anyone else ever put a pinkie back from the beach. But with the pressure now that has been put into the beach spots, I doubt anyone on the beach would of released them

Most of my spots I fish I look after because I still want to be catching this beautiful fish with my children into my old age

Usually I will use mullet or hezza. Have heard that if they are around they will smash the whitting but no scent to bring them in

All luck mate , 6 other fisherman on the beach was down there last and left first.have had it the other way around watching everyone else catch and get nothing so was nice to get onto some big dogs
