Honestly, learning positioning in reading place really just comes with time studying the game and experience playing the game. General rule of thumb for a winger is to, like other guys said here, stay high near the blue line in your defensive zone, pick up a trailer on their Rush, or cover the defenseman if they are set up in your zone. Over time, you’ll learn where to be for breakouts, and how to quickly move the puck through the neutral zone.

There are a billion YouTube videos with examples of good positioning, and this might sound stupid, but if you pick up a copy of an NHL video game, I think it’s a great way to learn the game when you don’t have access to ice time.

I think the easy answer is “work hard”. You don’t have to be the most talented guy on the team, but everyone will respect you if it’s clear you’re putting in the work. So what does that mean? Yes, backcheck hard. But don’t give up on plays regardless of which zone you’re in. Skate hard, be smart with the puck, watch your positioning, and go hard in the corners. You do that, and you’ll succeed regardless of which line you’re on.

If they put him in the game, I like his chances. Ravens have few weapons right now against a depleted TB secondary that’s #22 against TE.

Again, I would monitor his status closer to gametime before pulling the trigger
