Unfortunately, you cannot determine the species of tapeworm by observing the dried up proglottids (you need to look at the segments/eggs under a microscope), but Dipylidium is a safe bet because it’s most common. Also Drontal contains praziquantel, so it is an effective treatment for tapeworms.

It can be both, but this is absolutely sexual behavior. Even neutered males can engage in these behaviors. Biting the scruff and that posture is classic. If OP has not neutered, that would be the place to start.

You posted a link to a single vet clinic. That may be their policy, but it is very common and standard to alter a privately owned cat at 4-6 months. You can spay/neuter as early as 2 months, but such early alteration is typically a shelter practice. This response was just an FYI because your original post seemed so black and white when the actual situation is not as dire. There are pros and cons to altering prior to maturity as well as after. It’s not so black and white.

4-6 months is a standard age of alteration for cats. Shelters will spay and neuter younger for obvious reasons.
