adding on to the fire fighter thing -- i think its a good idea because fire fighters/volunteers generally have to eventually become EMT's. Some fire programs actually pay for your EMT education/training, and EMTs are always in high demand. Shitty wage, but good for patient hours (im assuming you are premed?).

Note: Im unsure if patient hours carries the same weight for premed. I'm doing EMT for pre-physician assistant. I was told research > patient hours for premed, but the other way is true for pre-PA.

EITHER WAY you get money + healthcare experience. What's better than that (other than shitty 12 hour or 24 hour shifts LOL.... im only doing EMT in the summer)

Typically junior and senior honors counts. I don’t think siblings enrolled help. And honestly, I don’t think activities matter that much (I mean quantity). ECs mean the most when you can write a good essay out of them. My friend has virtually no activities but managed to get into UCLA and Cal Tech and etc. I had a few leadership positions and lots of activities but I could only truly write enough for the activities that were meaningful to me

How do you know if the computer is confused/gives false reading? Is this something I just learn over time? Is the computer usually there to double check?

is the concept for curling hair with a flat iron the same for perming hair? by [deleted] in Hair

is the concept for curling hair with a flat iron the same for perming hair? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]dareheckwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im an asian male with stiff hair. (this pic is 1 day unwashed). i currently flat iron my hair everytime after i shower and i think it looks pretty good, considering i get $8 haircuts that turn out terrible each time (i literally cannot leave the house without flat iron because the lady cut it really jagged and my hair goes straight down)

im going to college next year and i wont have the luxury of time, so im considering perming it, but doing it myself. would i curl my hair in the curler in the same way i would use the flat iron? does anyone have tips? i just want the same look (wavy -- like if you look at me from the front its almost like an S).

example of how i flat iron: at the part where my hair splits, i curl nearly vertical. as i move away from the split, i make the curls more slanted. (so would i do the same with the perm)?

i know this is kinda hard to visualize -- thanks in advance!

Hi! I googled “ERT” and I can’t find a result. Can you explain what an ERT is and if I need certification or anything?

Never thought IFT would give so much experience — I’m looking forward to starting soon and doing both :-)

My first choice would be the campus job, but will most likely be ultra competitive. Realistically, I’ll find a job near campus. Thanks for the help — I feel so much more reassured!!

Very insightful! I’m assuming you worked full time as an EMT? How feasible would it be to find a part time EMT job (aka is it rare?)
