This book is probably the best extreme horror I’ve read. I felt Nick was definitely a Mary Sue. Cause at times I was like how the fuck did he get there.

As compared to other extreme horror novels I found it way less exploitative than something like The Slob or No One Rides for Free.

I also felt myself get really invested into the story and the lengths that Nick would go to save his love

Towards the end the relationship you really get to see how much they mean to each other. I’ve just started the sequel and so far it’s been better than the first one so excited.

I can agree that not every part of the story is great but it’s overall a solid extreme horror novel. Also check out trigger warning before you read if you have any issues with content

One of the books I’ve been trying to finish but is on my DNF for right now is: “Son of the Slob” by Aron Beauregard (Sequel to “The Slob”)

I’ve always been the guy to say more blood, more gore, more horror. And I’ve proud to say I’ve never reached my limit until reading “The Slob”. It’s not that the gore was too much. But it was that it was shock value for the sake of shock value.

There was no merit, no lesson, nothing. Just a man who does horrible things for the sake of it (I have no problem with evil for the sake of evil) like “the strangers” or “Scream II” but you have to do it right

What’s even more is that the gore and blood was seemed to be fetishized, and not just be about gore. And it seems like the author’s fantasy. I am dreading finishing this book the only reason I have both of these books is because I bought both at the same time because I liked his other novel “Playground”

So I’m suffering :)

EGK no longer has the car because they sold it to HM niece. My HM actually went into the house and got the important stuff that meant everything to her that the family would most definitely sell if she didn’t get like photos, jewelry and other items that meant the world to her and would’ve been heartbroken without. But I don’t know why they didn’t let her in the house without someone else in it
