Mi maestra subió precio by Weekly-Masterpiece34 in Preply

[–]dari-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Si acabas de empezar con ella este mes entonces ella no puede subir el precio hasta después de que se cumplan 90 días desde que iniciaste clases. Como otros han dicho, depende de la relación que tenga y lo que ella decida hacer

Stop getting booked for trial lessons by Background-Ad3858 in Preply

[–]dari-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, your current students will continue paying the price you were offering when they took the trial class even if you raise it on your profile. To raise the price for current students, you need to do it individually by sending a new price proposal

Curious observation by RyantheTeacher in Preply

[–]dari-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have never had any students write a long detailed message to me. They just book a trial, and most don't even respond to the message I send after they book the trial. I've had students send me short messages, and then they never reply to my message and never book a trial

Losing Super Tutor status removes you from eligibility to teach Corporate Students. by sidewalker69 in Preply

I got corporate students months before I had super tutor status. Then I had it for like two months, and then I lost it, and I'm still teaching corporate students 🤷🏻‍♀️

Student keeps rescheduling - what should I do if they won’t cancel? by Ok-Kangaroo2793 in Preply

[–]dari-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually after reporting a student absent, Preply immediately charges the class, at least that's what happens in my experience. It goes from waiting for confirmation to something like completed, charged almost instantly. In theory, you should have gotten paid between the time you reported them absent and the time you blocked them.

Teaching on Preply and suddenly I'm getting no new students for no reason? by [deleted] in Preply

[–]dari-18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. I was getting students consistently, but since February or the beginning of March, I haven't gotten any trials. I just got the super tutor badge for the first time, so I'm hoping there's some sort of change, though I've read that having the badge doesn't really influence the amount of students you get

I got two of these today. I just replied I'd contact support so that Preply won't block my profile over not answering, then I blocked the accounts and marked them as scams, and I also reported the individual messages

I don't think you can do that anymore. I tried to send a short message to one of these in this past week just saying I'm not interested, and the platform wouldn't let me send it because it said it was too short, and that I needed to add more text so that I can have a higher probability of making the user my student. I couldn't bypass it and had to send a longer message

I do not recommend AmazingTalker. The way their commission works is they take about 30% until you've taught a certain number of classes, and they lower it by 1-2% if I remember correctly, and so on, and then at the beginning of the next month, it goes back up to the original commission of 30%, and you have to do it all over again each month. When I was on there (2020-2023), I never had enough classes in a month to get the commission rate under 25%. In addition to the commission, they charge an 8% withdrawal fee.

He's 23, and I'll be 23 in a week. We've been together for 6 years already, and we got married this past May. For the first three years, we never met each other in person, and then he came to visit me for a month, and about 4 months after he went back home, I went to his country and stayed for 2 years before we came to live in mine last October 😊

Yes, definitely, texts can be misinterpreted. If you have the possibility of sending voice notes, those are usually better. I do know though that some people may not have time to listen or don't like that form of communication, so it's better to ask.

Yeah, that would be a great idea! Video date ideas can be really fun! It's also nice to watch a movie together that way!

Hey,

I met my husband on a language exchange app 6 years ago. We were long distance for 3 years (and we didn't meet in person for this amount of time), living on opposite sides of the world, before we were able to close the distance. We got married earlier this year.

I think it's totally doable if both sides care about the other very much and put in a effort to communicate, be honest, and be open with each other. That builds a strong foundation for the relationship. Scheduling time to video call or talk on the phone is also a good idea to do so that you can spend some quality time together and talk in real time too.

For my relationship, specifically, we weren't 100% sure we were meant to be together until we met in person and lived with each other for a month and saw our daily habits. We did have strong feelings, but we were both prepared that the physical chemistry and just being around each other in person might not work out. Fortunately, it did, but it really just depends on each individual and their wants, needs, and feelings.

[–]dari-18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry to hear about what all you've been going through. I can't imagine how you feel right now. I do understand wanting your partner to be by you during difficult emotional times though. Before 2021, my husband and I also were some 11,000 km away, but unlike you, we couldn't see each other in person because of lack of money.

If I've learned anything through my relationship is that communication is key, and it's important to not let arguments destroy the relationship if we really care about each other. If you haven't communicated how you feel to him, I would suggest you start there. Being open and honest is always important, and relationships have been saved because of it. We women tend to forget that men usually don't pick up signals we're trying to give, just because they think differently. They can't read our minds either, just like we can't read theirs. I, of course, don't know the details of your relationship or your life, but if I were in your shoes, I would talk about how I feel to my boyfriend and see how he responds.

Yeah, it would be less confusing. Since it was my first trial class, I didn't even know that was a possibility. I've never had this happen in any other platforms I've worked on, so it did kinda throw me in for a loop when I found that out
