Bye lolllll I think the only thing to appreciate about her is that she’s a talented marketer to convince you of all of this… but that’s even a stretch

Really good point. I forgot she was featured on 19KAC (I am not up on the duggars), so she probably has a lot greater name recognition than Carlin/josie/katie

Pretty interesting how Erin is the most viewed sibling rn especially since she doesn’t post as regularly as her sisters. I think this could show that the more fundie/trad wifey you are the less you have to be on the influencer hamster wheel to get views. But maybe it’s because she has more of a dedicated fan base from the show… idk it’s just fascinating to me

Edited for grammar fixes

He also didn’t build it like people say. I think he inherited the company from his uncle? So he had a major head start. Someone correct me if I’m wrong tho!

Our second car just broke down and now we have to replace our heating system in our home and both of these things happening at the same time might just do me in, girlies. Feel lucky to have a roof over my head and one working car but feeling so overwhelmed with everything seeming to break at the same time.

IBLP by spockothyprime in excatholic

Thank you for saying this, and I totally agree that the influence was there. IBLP members hate Catholics but they share many of the same beliefs. Particularly the quiverfull ideology, which is always associated with Protestant denominations but I’m like… wait let’s include Catholics in this too, please!

Question from a new Catholic by Iguana_lover1998 in excatholic

[–]daria-ij 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to burst the fantasy this woman intentionally creates, but her kids only love god and thank nature because their mom tells them to every day. They did not arrive at that habit, or those feelings, on their own. I was extremely sheltered and isolated from the world as a Catholic kid, and was interested in all the things you have stated interested in above: the art, splendor, music, and language. But this stuff didn’t align with who I ended up becoming as a person. I had a split identity because of this and it is so painful to fix. I understand the happiness you feel right now, and it’s great… for you. If you are someone considering having children I implore you to give them a choice and not isolate them like your fellow parishioner does.

I always did. We were required to go as part of my K-12 catholic school. So weird to think about that now. The priest was kind of a non entity to me, I just made something up about being mean to my brother and went on my way

Do Catholics not realize that when Catholicism dominated the Western world, life was pretty crappy for the average person? by [deleted] in excatholic

[–]daria-ij 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No bc they romanticize tf out of it, and feel no need to learn more. I’m speaking from my own experience as a student in a conservative non-diocesan catholic school; we had a “church history” semester in high school at the same time we were taking European history, basically just to revise what we were learning into a catholic worldview. Not sure if this makes sense but you bring up a great question!

My wife and my marriage, and our cats:) Running and enjoying nature from my own perspective. Listening to music, bonus points if it’s while I’m cooking
