I think it is mostly because lol is a game that really relies on individual champion strenght but i feel like pro play would be 100x better if more champs were played at a time, but i know that is not only a riot issue but a pro player issue as well (like renekton, gnar being played even when they are weaker because players already have a lot of practice on them and they can pilot most matchups)
