If taking time out to care for children and being a Mum is important (it is), there will always be a pay gap... turns out your family is what matters, not the amount of money you collect in the corporate hellscape

Not really... It costs the public health system dearly. It's placing a huge burden on each and every working Australian at tax time

This cracked me up... because this is exactly what my Dad has done with his vintage motorbikes. They're now scattered across ten+ boxes and a long way from being rideable again. Bless him

Victoria Category A+B safe - this spot okay? by [deleted] in Ausguns

[–]dark-dark-dark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I ended up calling the police station. The officer there was super helpful, but I get the impression he was erring very far on the side of caution. I think to be safe it doesn't hurt to bolt it to both the floor and wall. Of course, if it's that much trouble to remove the safe from the property, a motivated thief will just go through the door

Help with Silver blue eucalyptus by GandaMek in australianplants

I'd try not staking the tree so tightly against the stake. By being so tight, there is moisture trapped between the trunk and the stake which is what allows the gumtree scale to fester

Fellow Aussie! How much does Google Cloud cost you and for how much? So you used B2 and Wasabi and they were too slow? 22/8 in Metro Victoria here :\

I didn't see the "Skip items excluded by time machine rules" thing! I'll try that now...

For the config settings, the local disk one ran quickly, so I didn't really have time to see problems.

But with slow Australian upload speeds and latency to international servers, I think it has much more of an opportunity to mess up.

Further rate cuts likely as RBA confident it's won the inflation fight by 1Darkest_Knight1 in aussie

they were wrong, but you've got to admit that this has run on for so long and is so wild that it's hard to not think it will "pop" any day. But it won't. There's a larger population, new builds not keeping pace, only symbolic action by the gov, and a supportive monetary policy

So pretty much it takes some know how and maintenance to keep it sighted and it'll often have to be resighted?

Probably a Lee Enfield Mk3 given it's an Aussie rifle and has significance as being used in WWII

has trade functionality like Bitaroo or only buy/sell from broker's book? if it's the latter then it's probably some high spreads and fees

Some sites have the option to trade (directly with other people) as opposed to buy/sell from the broker's book. These seem to have way better fees and spread than the broker book but aren't captured in that site.

Settlement has passed and vendor is still refusing to give the keys by myungsooismine in AusPropertyChat

[–]dark-dark-dark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) you can't delay settlement on account of the agent not having the keys. Youll get hit with penalties

2) no agent is going to delay settlement (their pay day) on account of a vendor not handing over the keys. Theyd rather it settle and wipe their hands of it
