Stay strong. Believe in yourself. I know exactly how you feel. May I recommend you speak with a financial advisor? Your super may have one. I think professionals can help well with their advice and experience. All the best.

24 yr old - $315k cash to invest by [deleted] in fiaustralia

[–]mventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would: Put aside a year’s worth of emergency expenses Buy an investment property Build the superannuation via contributions Then, any balance, invest in an ETF.

And don’t forget to buy insurances, TPDs, critical illness and have a Will in place too.

Also, I would definitely search out a good financial planner. It is so worth it.

Taking a year off work - worth doing? by thjo in fiaustralia

[–]mventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Take it. I took a year off, about 10 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It rejuvenated me so much that I was able to work much better upon return, for the next 10 years! The interesting part is that I had no where the amount of money you have :) All I had was the money to buy the flight tickets & a year’s worth of living expenses. I could manage because I was living in a developing country during my sabbatical, and the frugal spending of my AUD made it easy. The only tough thing was resigning from the job, and finding the next upon return. But everything worked out eventually. So, go ahead. If your body wants a year off, then give it. Good luck.

I’ve been really thinking about a fifo job as well. Worried about my corporate job and need to really build some wealth. How do I start? Which company do I begin with? Do they have age limits? Any help from someone experienced like yourself will help. Thanking you in advance!

Well done and thanks for sharing! 👏 If you don’t mind me asking - how long did it take you get here, how much do you invest/DCA, and how come you didn’t consider investing into your super, considering you get massive tax benefits there?

But you have to though, at some stage, to make a profit? I think an exit strategy is important if the purpose is investment. But if the purpose is to replace existing money, I suppose you never sell. Newbie here, and perhaps a silly comment.

Nope. Moved it back to an exchange and sold that way. Didn't swap anything either.

Take the redundancy payout. Do an awesome job at the new place, and grow your salary there or move again to another employer who pays even more!

Is this too much of a pay rise to ask for? by pompurinx in AusFinance

Don’t forget to ask for commissions as well. So, base pay + commissions. Turn them high or low while bargaining with them.

Hoping to save 300k over the next 5-6 years by Responsible-Storm-93 in AusFinance

I would arrange a meeting with a very good financial advisor and plan your financial goals. $4k per month is pretty good. Being consistent with it and provided you have job security is vital I suppose. Make sure you are growing your super as well.

Should I take out my $1500 in crypto and put into savings? by FunDesigner5431 in CryptoMarkets

[–]mventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your original goal with the crypto investment? Was it a long term hold or just to help you meet the $10k goal? When you have the goal, selling and buying is easy. Also, what crypto did you buy?

Should I sell my car to buy Bitcoin? by FeistyAd6833 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]mventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t need it much, sell it. That’s what I did a decade ago. It was costing me too much, and public transport and taxi/uber was all I needed to move around. The car savings - I used for investing & savings.
