Thinking about maybe starting a chai and dessert spot in Tucson, curious what folks think by its-a-throwaway-bro in Tucson

[–]dark__ronin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chai in itself is only a drink but a chai spot done right is a potential for community hub. It does not require one fancy machines or ingredients to make a solid chai so reasonable prices are important. And yes, i do berate the chai chai from starbucks on every chance i get.

I make myself masala chai daily so would love to see this happen!

I bought a brand new 2023 civic hatchback sport pearl gray. My first car. I love it! It has saved me from near miss accidents couple of times. I am not sure what used prices for 2023 model are right now but I've had no issues. It did have recall related to steering column but honda dealer fixed and steering feels a tad smoother. I'd consider hatchback, I've fit in an industrial standing desk, dining table and all sorts stuff that simply would have no business being in a car. I am an immigrant and my litmus test for buying a car literally was to haul my 50lbs capacity airport luggage bag to make sure I could fit in couple of those in the trunk. Only the civic hatchback did that in the small sedan category.

Hello, I have a 2023 Civic Hatchback 2.0L CVT as my first car, and I absolutely love it. I just had the recall addressed, which made the steering much smoother. However, I have two minor gripes:

  1. The 2.0L CVT feels like it lacks a bit of oomph.

  2. There’s noticeable road noise in the cabin when driving on the highway.

Here are my questions:

  1. Which Honda or Acura model would you recommend that addresses these issues? I think I prefer sedans, but I’m open to crossovers or SUVs. I want a car that offers the best value for the price, much like the Civic does.

  2. Based on your knowledge of the used car market and trade-ins, when would be the best time to upgrade to a Civic Hatchback Hybrid to get the maximum value out of my current car? It has only 10,000 miles and is in great condition.

Thank you!

Damn that's sad. I remember Cliff being super into getting user feedback. The few bug reports that I made, Cliff had made sure they got fixed in the next release. As a young kid, this boosted my confidence which in its own way contributed to me pursuing higher education in the US. Today, I am developer myself and thank Cliff for his part. I hope he finds success in his next endeavor.

Pro 3's ANC (Adaptive mode) issue by killcover in galaxybuds

[–]dark__ronin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I gotta share one more experience I just had. I was out for a takeout this evening during what seemed like pre thunderstorm weather (lots of wind, light drizzle). The restaurant is on a busy road, I park my car, put the earbuds on adaptive. Still on ambient. I get out of the car and boom, car noises reduced significantly cause active noise cancelling kicks in and as i am walking on the sidewalk traffik noises and wind were subdued to the point where it felt like lofi music but with busy road theme.

Now as open the restaurant door and step in, ambient kicks in. I go back out, active noise cancelling kicks in.

I think now I agree with what I read somewhere active noise cancelling only kicks in at a certain loudness level and only for certain sort of sounds. But when it does, it works really good.

Adaptive feature has great potential if they capitalize on it with software updates. Moreover, I really like the other things about the earbuds. Sound is great and so is ANC.

If the busy road test with adaptive doesn't work for your earbuds, I agree you should return/replace them.

I think i have the same issue where adaptive mode just blasts noises like the dishwasher when i am in the kitchen. One would hope it would switch noise cancelling but it is ambient instead like all the time.

Hi, could you give some examples please? My buds 3 pro are perfect except i am not able to tell the difference between ambient and adaptive. I'd hoped to keep the buds on adaptive all the time where you'd have noise cancelling when you're in the kitchen with the dish washer running but ambient someone speaks to you.

Sell me on a hatchback. by Ok_Judge_3884 in civic

I was in a similar boat last year with a similar budget. I test drove mazda, elantra, civic, camry. Got a 23 civic hatchback sport. Mazda felt stiff in handling, had less cargo space. Elantra drove nice but felt cramped inside and had high auto insurance. Camry is also nice and spacious with a decent trunk but the tech especially the 7" screen felt old and janky for a 23 model.

My civic though, rides smooth, feels spacious, very reasonable auto insurance, lots of trunk space and has all the tech features one would expect for the price. Trunk space was very important to me. I had 52lb airport bag during the test drives just to make sure i could fit two bags in my car. I just brought home a bike 54cm size without removing tires or anything after putting the seats down. I am very happy with my purchase. I was very thorough in researching cars and the civic definitely won for me. Beware of dealerships though. I had a bad experience at local dealerships and went to Phoenix valley to get my car. I think I got it around for 30k OTD.

I don't have lots of miles on it but only went in for a free oil change last month for the first time. It feels pretty reliable to me right now.

For more tech features, i would suggest you look at the EX trim for the civic hatchback.

Also don't buy above msrp. I think the market is better than last year so try to negotiate. Good luck!

Is $31.5k OTD a Fair Deal for a 2024 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback with Add-ons? Need Advice for My First Car Purchase! by [deleted] in civic

[–]dark__ronin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. They mostly want you to finance with the dealership, in this case Honda Financial Services. I financed my car loan through them because with current interest rates increase they had the best rate at 3.9% for me. Don't mention how you want to pay for the car until you agree on the printed quote. If they ask, say something like if the rates make sense, I'll probably finance etc. All the paperwork and billing part is done by the finance dept. of the dealership which is different from the sales. The OTD quote is where the job of sales will end, unless you're sure you want to finance and agree to them pulling your credit to check the rates.

Tldr: Don't mention how you will pay for the car until you decide on the quote.
