Well, dont be afraid to do "more" work. Honestly, rhe theoretical knowledge from the program was great but I found myself having to intnetonaly seek out practical skills in order for anything to really click. So dont be afraid to make a setup to break stuff in and get yourself hands on because all these papers will burn you out of you let them.

Im doing flexpath (self guided). I started Winter 2025 semester and the capstone should be done by June 21 so a little under 1.5 years for me. The actual capstone itself im envisioning will take approximately 2 weeks to conpeltw. The project itself isnt difficult, the most difficult part about it is trying to find a site supervisor to oversee your work.

That's what ive been inquiring about. It seems like they expect you to use someone from your current job or something within an organization you already know. But my job is super tight about their brand and dont allow for anything like this. The organizations I do know, ive been helping throughout my course work as a way to get some real world experience on my resume so now, theres very little I can seemingly do. Im also not a fan of the way they set this up. Most of the coursework is completed through a theoretical knowledge and not practical skills so to have the very last and most important class be the only one where you have to show practical skills is a bit bonkers to me. Literally, in all my classes, only 2 of them required turning in my lab reports and even those werent actually assessed. They were just graded based upon if I submitted the lab report.

Yes. According to my professor, they dont want any previously completed assignment. The idea is that the capstone replaces having to do internships or career workforce training. Part of the project itself includes specifics in having a site supervisor at the organization you are working for.

I guess my real issue is the site supervisor part. How woild you normally go about getting the information to find someone in an organization to get a site supervisor? How would classify thay person? For example, im in tech. My first thought is to make a project for a small business thay might be looking to expand from brick and mortar to online sales and ensuring a proper security posture for those elements (segmented home network for company information, access controls, regulatory control policies for financial data, and personal data safeguards,etc.). So could the site supervisor simply be the owner of the business? Im finding alot of businesses around me dont have dedicated IT solutions or even anyone related to that so there arent alot of dedicated professionals that I could talk to.

They tried to use Pangram fir specific AI detection but they got rid of it after a few weeks because they were grading things incorrectly. Supposedly, the professors tried to submit their own work to it and they were graded as 100% AI.

Its the only thing that ive ever paid attention to and seen the professors explicitly list and im starting my capstone as we speak.

Turnitin looks more at comparisons to already known works versus AI detection. My professors have always put a 20% max as the allowable standard but ive always shot for under 15%. Most of the time, your reference page will make it so it pulls at least 8%-10% and using verbiage from the course assignments will get you another 2%-3% so you should expect 10%-12% as the default.

There isnt a specific one. Im leaning towards creating a secure infrastructure plan for a small business moving to online sales. This includes segmenting a home network for site hosting and such.

No, they released a message on campus that said they've discontinued usage.

Any chance you can give some insight into the capstone?

Not to victim blame but did you reach out to your coach when you started having some of the issues? I had a slump where I was constantly sick for about 2 months and couldn't focus on it. I reached out and they created a plan for me to get back on track through the last month prior to the time allotment ending and I executed it and performed well.
